The rebates clearly read they are not valid with other rebates or promotions. What would lead you to believe this is not the case and can get all these items? I'm just curious if anyone has tried something like this with Staples before.

added: best way would be to do both so as to maximise coupon usage. No limit to # coupons used in the store, while staples.com lets you use each one only once.

Microsoft is holding OfficeXP demo seminars in cities all over the country. Check out www.microsoft.com/officexp for info. Most of them are sold out by now, but if there's still an opening near you, you can go, watch the demo and get your $100 rebate coupon.

I called and asked them to put the software in my already placed order.

4 out of 5 titles are out of stock. I asked them to backorder but they said the promotion is valid only till &quot;items are in stock&quot;

I got a call from my nearby Staples saying that they can't actually process the Office XP software online order until tomorrow. Not problem for either of us, though. :^)

I guess they don't want face the Wrath of Bill by shipping before the official Office XP release date of 5/31/01. Can't say I blame them.

I highly doubt they'd pricematch with a physical item. It'll have to be price. And yes, the OfficeXP rebates at Staples are through Staples, not through Microsoft and other companies. Therefore, you'll have to buy OfficeXP from them to get the other stuff, too. But with the online coupons, you can't miss--you can buy 128mb of RAM with the money you save on the coupons.

Microsoft states in several places that this is actually a &quot;rebate&quot; coupon, leading us to believe it's a mail-in coupon (like they've done before.) Just to be safe, if you buy OfficeXP early, you may want to keep it sealed until you get your rebate coupon on Saturday just in case there's a stipulation you need to meet. Then you're not stuck with it in case something comes up.
