My last post tonight

I went to staples: Bought usb, ups, palm

All on seperate receipts, got duplicates too. Ok the story the sale starts sunday. The nice staples lady let me see the flyer

You can buy everything...I'll just go back and price match. I was able to use the 20 off 100 for the palm and 10 off 40 for the ups because its 49.95 right now. Oh I also had 3 of those 10 off 10 coupons and they used those to so I got 60 off total right off the start. I prebought office xp upgrade and will go back tomorrow for that.

My advice is go to B&M and get what you want combine stuff to get either 10 or 20 off with the printable coupons (go to FW to get them) there is also a 30 off 150. Then on sunday or monday go back and get your pricematch for the items that went on sale. No lines no hassel.

Oh also send in the duplicate receipts tomorrow when you buy xp and get ahead of everyone. Thats what I'm going to do. I filled out the rebates online and have everything ready except the offcie receipt and upc.

All of you who placed orders have got yourselves a steel pair of balls. No way I'm risking 1 LARGE on mail in rebates. I wish you all luck.

konichiwa, closer to $500. But i figure you can always return the stuff, or my Amex Blue will take it back. By that I mean all the crap (and it is) that I bought for free after rebate, I can always return before cutting off UPCs etc.

Then again I may learn my lesson on this one

I need a cheap digital camera. If someone does buy XP and the agfa camera I would be willing buy it from them at a decent price. PM me if you are interested in selling your camera.

very nice , i should have done that rather than use up all the $40 off $200 codes.

I have a similar total, add $6 for the hanging folder file I bought at staples to keep all this rebate crap in!

My guess is that Billy G has them all by the (*&(*& and they are expected to move so much product and to help get it out the door they are trying to entice you to come get it... Heck they haven't gotten all the bugs out of Office 2K yet!

I think I will try to get a match at Staples to the OM ad which is some good hardware and could potentially make the upgrade free after flea-bay. And your aren't tying up all your dough praying on these rebates after the fact....

Good luck to those that shoot for this... I don't have $800 to tie up on old software and hardware while paying to upgrade some new bug-ware from B. Gates

One more time for all the doubters. This is a real deal. Read This Page. It gives all the details and makes it perfectly clear that you get the rebates on all of these offers. Not one, not two, all of them.

The only thing not discussed is whether the items purchased can be on orders separate from the XP order. In the past I've never had a problem with multiple orders, so I'll assume that they will work. Then again I was lazy and put it all on one order which probably cost me about $90 in unused coupons. Oh well still a hot deal and if someone hasn't already done it, this should be nominated for deal of the year! Great find Wolfgang!

P.S. Lastly on Staples track record with rebates. Yes a few people have had problems, but I've received every cent of the $1000+ in Staples Rebates that I've sent in over the past year and a half.

I attempted by a telephone call to Staples to get a pricematch for buy.com. Both the standard and professional versions are about $20.00 cheaper there. First, I got the comment concerning shipping being add to my order and I replied it was free shipping for XP products from buy.com.

After the staff at staple looked at buy.com website, it was decided not to pricematch. The reason given was all the "free" rebates items. I commented that I am taking chances on those rebates. I get the impression these folks act like it money out of their own pockets.

Yup, awesome deal. Also, like tmartini, I've received all of Staples rebates (including the 2 rebates for Visioneer 4400).

Awesome deal...

Just a few suggestions:

1) Add a wite-out pen for $1.99 and get MIR of $1.99 back SKU# 450852

2) Msatan666 - You need to order the "Docs to Go Pro" with Office XP...
It specifically states that on the rebate for this product...

3) Called the rebate place and they said all of these rebates will work
on one purchase of Office XP & multiple orders, just send them in
seperately...

Hope this clears up some things for everyone...

lame, my XP from staples.com wont get here till June 6th! in fact I only get on thing before that! I can see all this being out of stock.... and me being upset.

Wolf: true but they have a habit of saying things will be delivered later, and then cancelling that part of the order. happened to me on the APC UPS, had to go to the B&M to get that, and never would have known it wasnt coming unless i called! i'm on hold to staples.com right now..

Rally1, but won't everything be fine so long as you order within the rebate period, even if it doesn't arrive for some time afterward?

My order for the XP and the palm should also arrive on June 6th.

Shouldnt be a problem since what matters is the date on which it is ordered.

One can also ask Staples to fax an invoice showing the date of order, if the shipping itself will be delayed outside the rebate period.

(Staples packing lists, which usually count as receipts for rebates, typically show the ship date, not the order date -- that's why being able to get a fax with the order date on it is helpful.)

looking at a packing slip, the Order Date is listed half way down the page, on the left hand side, under special instructions

so no worries

ALSO:
the Dazzle USB Video thing looks nothing like the staples picture:
product info, and only works in Win ME, i'm sure alot of anandtech members use ME - not
