I did this @ local Staples, Asst manager told me over the phone I could just give him the $40 off 200 code, took him 45 min to round up all the software & stuff, I was out the door after writing a >$900 check. He did screw up & gave me a D-Link DSC-350 instead of the web cam, and then charged me $25 for it when I caught it.

Have already shipped some of the stuff after I Flea bayed it.

Since the rebates are so large, I sent them delivery confirmation & copied everything...

Received everything except Office XP upg, should of had that 6/1/01

This morning I emailed support@staples.com and asked if it had been shipped

They sent a reply saying they shipped another copy free of charge, and I will have it tomorrow...sweet!

Interesting.... I had the same thing - got everything delivered except for XP. Called them, said that I never got it, they are (or so they say) sending another copy today to be received tomorrow. Looks like their delivery system screwed up and they know it.

I tried to order, but I was told they will NOT honor the rebate if I use coupon ...
I told the CSR that I have done similiar deals before and had no problem with the rebates, and she told me that they are enforcing the policy now ...

Ive heard people say this over and over again.. still no probs with staples rebates, so we'll see.

I finally got my copy of XP today, after i gave up on it. I want to return it, i'm never going to use it (and return the free software), but I took it out of the hard plastic. i thought that was just for shipping, but i see that it is not sealed any other way.

Anyone else had to return their copy? Hope they take it back.

that plastic is the actual packing for the software. Its not just for shipping.
If you opened it then the staples policy states that,

"Unopened software must be returned within 30 days. Opened, defective software will be exchanged for the same title only. All other products may be returned for refund, exchange, or credit within 30 days."

Actually, I got the OfficeMax XP instore and it came with the plastic cover (nearly took a finger opening it too). It looks like they all come that way.

I got an even better deal - Staples screwed this up so badly that they offered a $15 coupon to me for my troubles and I got TWO copies of XP for the price of ONE. They missed sending out my copy the first time, then tried to send it again, and it didn't show. On the last attempt they got it here next day air, plus they let me use a 50 off 500, even though I wasn't supposed to!

Now an extra copy has shown up! This'll work out great since I know I won't be able to install it on all my PC's with that darn activation.

I am having trouble finding the rebate for the Palm M100. I am probably overlooking it. Could someone please point me in the right direction. I just got my Office xp today and want to start sending in rebates. Ordered XP on 5/31.

I believe that microsoft has the licensing agreement inside the box. If you read the agreement, it might say, "if you do not agree, return the product to the vendor". You may be able to return MS office by stating that you do not agree with the license, and that it says you can return it.

I dont own Office, so I may be wrong. I have seen those clauses in other MS Licenses of the past.
