Mass shootings in the United States accounted for most extremism-related fatalities last year in the country with over 80% of those murders committed by white supremacists, data released by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) showed on Thursday.

If I'm reading the numbers right, 18 out of the 26,031 killings in the US were committed by white supremacists. I'd also like to note that the article is discussing white supremacists, not white conservatives as the OP stated. While one may be a sub group of the other, murder isn't a basic tenant of conservativism.

The right reading is extremist related killings.

I took some license with conservatives because they are not white progressives or moderates. Also, conservatives in power support white nationalism by attending their events, inviting them to Republican events, breaking bread with known racists and anti-semites. White conservatives are part of the problem not part of the solution.

Not all conservatives are white supremacists, but ALL white supremacists are conservatives/GQPers. Furthermore, ALL conservatives are FINE enough with that to NOT make a concerted effort to oust the white supremacists.

It’s not that huge a concern in the scheme of things but I think it is still notable that since 9/11 the #1 source of terrorist killings in the US has been the far right, not Islamists.

While yes, I understand ‘after 9/11’ is a big qualification still it’s been two decades of the primary terrorist threat being the far right and we never treat it that way.

Going back to that well again? Terrorists plan and execute those plans to violently effect political goals. Are you willing to wait until some white nut picks out a black church or synagogue and assassinates 30 people?
