Whiter Teeth

I brush three times everyday since i was 3, and I go for 8 minutes each time. I've never had a cavity, my teeth are straight naturally, never needed braces, NEVER been to a dentist.

Recently i've noticed that certain people have teeth that like,, almost glow and some have this bluish tint... How do they do that!

UPdate : came back from dentist, results? NO CAVITIES LIKE I SAID... laughing gas was omg,, i thought i was going to become a drug addict from the fun of it..

my teeth are actually whiter than the picture on the white level chart that someone mentioned,, it wasn't A# for me, just a letter.

According to my dentist i'm the best first time patient ever. he said something about my mouth being unusually acidic making my teeth less succeptable to plaque, gingivitis.

Oh and, flouride is a major cause of tooth discoloration. Seems to me like you are overdosing on flouride. If you must brush that often and for that long, try a non-flouride toothpaste for one of those sessions each day.

my sister uses these strips to whiten her teeth...but if you drink lots of soda and coffee it stains your teeth pretty bad

I'm trying out the Target branded whitening pre-brush gargle. I just started it a few days ago, but I've heard good things about it. At $3 it's worth a try...

I don't drink soda or coffee. My teeth look very clean and "relatively White".. Like just what color are they suppose to be..

i tried the crest strips, didn't seem to work for me and it was annoying to use. i hate all the gooey slimey stuff when you peel off the strip. and i wasn't sure if you can swallow the saliva with the strip on so i end up spitting constantly.

I'm sure swallowing that is ok though, they'd get their ass sued if people got sick.

Why do you care so much? Your teeth are fine by your description of it.

I'm just a bit jealous that i brush so much and I dont' have as good looking teeth as certain others.

That sounds good & all, but go to a dentist. Get X-rays!!!!! Oh, and they'll find at least one cavity........I promise! Not to mention heavy scale, tartar, gum pockets, bone density, gumline levels etc. etc. If you've never been to a dentist and you're over the age of 16, you're gonna be in for a surprise!!

P.S. The blinding white stuff.......(like Paula Abdul during the finale of American Idol).........is professional. Your dentist can make your teeth glow like the sun if you'd like.

You should definitely go to a dentist. Brushing doesn't remove all of the plaque. Go get your teeth professionally cleaned and checked.

Plus........expect the dentist to want to exercise the..........."DEEP" cleaning!!

This will run you approx $150-$200 per quadrant if you don't have insurance. They go way down below the gum line & get in between teeth into places you didn't know you had. Regular light-scale cleaning won't get it if you've never been before. If you *can*, however, try to get a half done each time so you can make it into 2 visits instead of 4. It's really not a biggie, but 4 visits is just a lot.
