Many of you have already contacted me, but i wonder what kind of experience you have, what education you have, what job you got or if you are a student, which education are you getting...

I'll start by stating that i have been in the business of testing and designing systems for 15 years, i am the founder of the HW company PC Resources (NO, that is not pcresources.com) and i do my own QC of every individual component that leaves my company..

So, who are you guys...

I contacted you.

I'm 18, I got my AS from a local community college in 1998. I have half of an engineering transfer degree, but I burned out & quit school to work. Been workin' full time since I was 16, currently doing LAN support for DSL connections. Slowly working on what eventually should be a CCNP/MCSE combination, though it's a slow ride.

I've been fixing cars (mostly Chrysler/Jeeps) for the last 10 years. Mostly in the electrical and onboard computer systems.

But next Monday I start at Intel. I'll be working as a Fab Technician, and I simply can't wait!

I got sucked into the PC world about five years ago, and in the past year started building systems as a side income.

*cough*OT*cough* Lol sorry had to.

I'm 20, I'm halfway through a BSc. in Computer Science, and I'm presently in my 5th month of an 8 month work study (possibly to be extended to a full year) at a large Oil & Gas company (internation in fact, though I'm only invovled with the Canadian branch).

I'm an AS/400 Systems Administrator. The group I work in is in charge of keeping 6 AS/400 servers up and running. We do hardware and OS type stuff.

I might be getting a 4 month extension, and I'll hopefully be going into Unix programming for the exploration and drilling group in that 4 months.

I'm a Full-time college student who currently is operating a Network Consulting firm. College is taking forever this way (22 years old, 1 school year to go...) and don't ask about my grades. Being self-employed has been a learning experience - most enjoyable.

I am a full-time college student at Georgia Tech, studying towards a degree in Business Management. I got my first computer when I was 6, and I've been hooked ever since. Although I have not taken a CS course in 2 years, at one time I could program in Pascal, C++, and Visual Basic. I still use HTML and Java Script.

When not in school, I work for Delta Air Lines' e-Business: B2C Strategy department. Marketing Research Coordinator is one of my more recent titles. Prior to working for Delta, I worked for Lufthansa German Airlines' USA-South Marketing Department. I am 21.

My name is Chad Montgomery, and I've been doing various sales jobs for the last few years. I started as an Account Manager for Rent-A-Center back in April 1999, became a Sales Manager with them in about 6 weeks. Stayed there about a year and a half and am now a Sales Executive selling/implementing Computer Aided Facility Management systems (CAFM) for large companies who wish to track their people/space/assets/leases. I'm not in a technology position, mainly sales, even though it sounds like I am.

I graduated high school but did not go on to college. Had I gone on to college I probably would have gotten double majors in Finance and Business Management, and would have hopefully sought out a Stock Broker position.

Lately I've been thinking of switching over to an IT job. When I hear of people making 150k as network engineers, it makes you think twice about not doing it. Also, being a CIO for a major corporation would be something I could enjoy later in life.

Im 17, currently a high school junior.
i have had a CCNA since about June.
Worked doing network administration for about 6 months. i had wanted to get an MCSE until i learned linux for that job. i just cant make myself pursue MCSE. windows seems so worthless compared to linux (for everything not just servers, desktops too). got laid off when my company got bought out, it was a good experience.
im studying Nortel certification through my school, but im realy bored by Nortel (we only have ARN which are crappy routers).
i am trying to learn the ways of the jedi... i mean linux. its challenging and difficult, but its always FUN.
im trying to get into Rice University but id settle for UT or A&M. i became the captain of the debate team to get into college (but i like debate).
i build computers for people and game a lot.

thats me in a nutshell.
