Who Bought a Prescott Today?

Got a review for that? im seriously considering getting a 3.0 prescott and P4C800-E.

Why get that motherboard when you have one that will run the Prescott just as equally?

P4P8X is a horrible ocing mobo, on top of that, i dont think it meets the power requirements for prescott.

I have this one. It runs to over 270 with no modding, Prescott ready and I also have GEIL that goes to 272 1:1. All I need now is entry level watercooling to get me over 4 GHz. I am buying Prescott 3.0 GHz.

No, i have the P4P8X, which wont do over 225 fsb without overheating the northbridge.

there are no guaranty's of good overclocks specially if we are talking about 1gig overclock, its luck of the draw, so many components variables factor in.....but those athlons64's are very impressive even at stock speed!! (tested a athlon64 3400+ at work today) ...but yeah sure for us overclockers prescott should be a nice chip (provided you got a mobo that fully support it) I'll order a 3.0E soon and see how high i can take it
