Was today the release date for the Prescott's and the price drops ? I thought I read that the 2.8 of each were going to be $178. No-one has a 2.8C for $178

I'm a bottom feeder. I never go out and pay huge money for something just to be "have it". Rather wait until things get cheap...

You might not have noticed but Prescott 3.0 GHz is already cheaper than Athlon 64 3200+. Given the fact that I already have a motherboard for it and that this thing overclocks great, that is a no brainer to me. The fact that Prescott at 3.7 beats EE overclocked to 3.7 is all I need to know, I think I have a monster overclocker coming here. And I am no fan boy for either side. If AMD thinks they will be on the high $ side of Intel with a CPU that cannot manage to accomodate high speed memory, they can kiss my wallet goodbye. I spend few months to get 10% increase from Barton to 64 3200+, now I am going for 20% increase from 2.4@3.2 to Prescott 3.0@3.8 for less money!
