I'm still using a 5870 and I have the bug to upgrade so bad.
I thought I'm the only fool holding my 5 year old XFX HD 6950 2GB this long...Guess I can't complaint now.
What are your CPU specs again?
Running a sandy bridge i5-2500 (none K version), I sort of regret didn't pay the extra $10 to get it unlocked so that I can over-clock the CPU in the future. Lesson learned.
Okay, I gotta tell you a bad news, I really wanted to hold out as much as possible because I really wanted a high-end card from AMD so that I don't have to worry about upgrading often. And I know, I know you have advised me against "a 5 year upgrade" cycle is simply bad advice.
But this morning, my 6950's fan is spinning like crazy at 4000+RPM for no reason, so it may as well be drop-dead like in any seconds and I would not be surprised.
Here's the catch, the card came with
limited lifetime warranty with XFX, so I emailed them about the issue and suggest if they can swap me a card to hold out until Vega launch and I assure them my next purchase will be from XFX (I'm looking at you AMD, when can you release the RX 490??!!)
Edit: Plus I only asked for a card good enough to run the game called "League of Legends" and I will be happy, so nothing crazy here. Let's see how XFX response. I emailed them through the Newegg support thingy.
Just in case someone don't know, League is a very low-profile 2009 game that doesn't take any serious GPU to render the game.
