I bet it's the best 480 but the thing is the 480 seems like the best value at $200. By the time you're looking at $$250-270 there comes a point where more vram and an overclock doesn't seem to be translating into enough % performance to justify the % in extra cost.

100% agree. The best 480 value is the $200 card. When you get close to $300 suddenly you are in the realm of secondhand 980 tis or Furys.

Tired of waiting for 480 and constant tracking for stock availability, so I just grabbed a Zotac 1060 dual fan version from BHPhotovideo since it just dropped the price from 299 to 288 today and no tax. Should be a huge upgrade over my 760 2GB which cost me $250 + tax when new.

Maybe I haven't bought video cards for a long time, I don't remember price markup like these before.

Not too shabby I don't guess for $215. I haven't owned a blower card in so long I had forgotten how obnoxious they are when you ramp the fan up. All of you who say they aren't that bad are FOS! EK block incoming FTW...

Over here, (Aus) There's several retailers clearing [new] R9 Nano's and Fury's for equivalent to US$350 , so yeah, until they're all gone they're a more logical choice if your budget stretches into that realm (Hence I picked up a nano!)

Here, a GTX1070 is still just below 50% more $$$ than these so there's a great big hole in between

I had a 4870 with a blower. Only card I ever had with a blower. I hated it. I vowed to never get another blower again.

And yet I bought a blower 480. It seems like the blower on the 480 is only a little quieter. But actual users say it's not so bad.

Though with it 95+ here in Georgia I probably will never hear it over the AC anyway. At least until I can get a non-reference card and sell the reference.

Meh. I wouldn't have ordered this even if I hadn't found the 1060 in stock. It's a $240 card that's basically the same as the one you got for $200. The price hike is for basically nothing.

Size comparison with my Arctic Acellero Extreme III R9 290

First impressions: It is very quiet, and stays cool. Does perform better than my Gigabyte reference 480. However it does use a bit more power over the reference card. Seems pretty on par with the reviews I read/watched. If anyone read anything about it yet, the bios for some reason is limited to 5% power limit. Because of that it struggles to reach full boost speed during benchmarks.

Got crossfire enabled now. It's worth noting it took about 3 driver installation attempts to get it right. Haven't fired any games up yet.
