Keep me informed YBS1. At some point when the production of these catches up with demand, I might snag a RX 480 and put it under water. Maybe Zen will come out by then.
The parts I needed came in stock today, so if all goes well I should have the 6700K and the RX 480 under custom loop this coming weekend. Already realized I forgot something though, I was maybe going to delid the 6700K and try to shoot for 5GHz but I forgot to add the delid tool to the order (nope, not doing the vice or the razor blade method, that scares the bejesus out of me). I suppose I should just see how the temps do under the loop rather than a Corsair H100i.

YBS1, I was able to snag both a Reference 8g RX 480 and a 6700k and Asus I170 i Pro Gamer mini itx mb. I'll be using a Corsair H110i GT cooler. Should have most of it together by the weekend.

Cool, I received my stuff today but they mistakenly sent me a mounting kit for the pump rather than the pump itself. So hopefully they ship out the correct part in time for the weekend. So you got a cool new min-itx rig coming together, what chassis are you stuffing that hardware into???

I noticed Newegg has now increased the price of all the 480 8 GB reference models to $250. The XFX model with the back plate i still $250.

Oh, btw guskline....I ended up getting the XSPC Blade waterblock instead of the EK. It's not as aesthetically pleasing as the EK, but much less expensive, nearly half the price. Considering I don't have a window on the M1 combined with it not making much sense to put a ~$120 block on a card that cost me only $215, a ~$66 block seemed more prudent. I imagine it will work just as well.

I have a 360mm rad wtith EK SupremacyMX block if I want to custom watercool but I think the Corsair H110i GT will be close enough and a lot easier. I'm going to keep the Sapphire RX480 stock. No waterblock right now.

Glad I snagged a reference 8GB model on Newegg for MSRP when it was in stock (for mere minutes).

Thanks nowinstock!

Let me know how this goes. I've been playing around with the idea of water cooling my 480 just for the purpose of keeping it quieter during these TX summers, I don't plan on doing any overclocking.

I ordered mine right after they went up, and nothing as of yet. If rumors are true, it will be 2-3 weeks

Given that I'm a broke college dude with my HD 6950 on life-support, I can't afford a GTX 1070...If XCOM 2 isn't that demanding and/or poorly optimized, I would have went with the $199.99 RX 470...
I read the 480 is pretty close to the R9 390 performance, which struggles to reach average 60 FPS in XCOM 2, so I expect the 480 Nitro can give me a few more frames to close that gap and maintain 60 FPS.

Ordered mine on 7/25. Not a peep from Amazon since.

I called Amazon 2 days ago regarding the shipping estimate, and apparently the representative doesn't know when they will received the 480 Nitro from Sapphire. But the Rep has kindly offered me a 1 day shipping when they do get the shipment from Sapphire.

Here's my speculation on next Quarter AMD earnings:

-Gamers that have the money and can't wait for the custom 480 already jumped ship to the green side.

-Gamers like me who's on government's food stamp will continued to wait and stuck with AMD...

Verdict,

AMD still wins BIG, from miners buying 20+ ref cards and picking up losers like me.

I mean yes, the 480 is perhaps the 2nd best performance per dollar card according to TechPowerUp, but its so difficult for us to even pick up a custom 480 after 6 weeks from its original launch.

470/460 both launched in August, yet they both have custom cards selling from multiple vendors on Newegg. What's the excuse?

Let me guess, because 470/460 have higher margins? Higher gains?

I am frustrated and this is the first time AMD has failed me...Enough is enough, when I get a job and I'll vote for nVidia from now on.

It's out of stock everywhere I look where I live. I just can't seem to find one in stock.

After sifting through all the FUD and BS in these message boards I have a geforce 1060 headed my way. know what the deal breaker for AMD was? friggin idle wattage while using dual screens is much higher on the AMD cards vs Nvidia and has been that way for generations apparently. I picked up a zotac for $240 after $15 cash back on newegg. The RX480 was also sold out, again

I'm still standing by my previous statement that the video card subforum is the most useless of all these subforums due to people's attitudes, endless fact spinning and all around fanboy-ing here.
