I did for a few months back in the early 2000s but fell out of habit. I might start again. The hard part is remembering to grab the knife on the way out the door.

Jesus dude, why don't you bring some hand grenades as well?

Why do you need a gun and a knife exactly? I understand a knife is better close range and all, but it's not hard to get out of a knifes range long enough to get out a gun and shoot....

Sounds like a good idea. Might also think about investing in some body armor for, you know, like going to Costco and stuff.

Is this for slicing apples or oranges at lunch? I have a CCW, work downtown, and still don't feel the need to carry a gun let alone a knife but most of the buildings I go to don't allow weapons anyway.

I use my knife for opening alot of packages, cutting wire, just about anything.

Carrying a weapon is my right, not to mention maybe help someone out or save a life.

Do you really need to carry a knife AND a gun though? I am pretty sure one or the other would suffice quite nicely (with the preference on the gun due to the range and fear factor, but a knife would work also).

I have a swiss army knife in my car's glove compartment. I don't carry weapons on myself. My neighborhood's safe enough that I don't have to fear for my life every time I step outta my house.

Yea...you know, today's supercriminals can take a full clip without being fazed. That knife might save your life!

I'd rather have a knife and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Of course this is also true for bacon but I don't carry around salted pork slices.

A knife is a tool like any other. Using one for defense ain't the best idea unless you have training. It'd be dumb to use a knife when you have a gun anyway.

I carry one all the time as it's useful, nothing to do with defense.

i carry a knife all the time. but its not for safety. there are times where you need a knife. those that say its silly to carry both a knife and gun are missing the point.

I used to until I trasnferred to California.
Got so scared of being sued or thrown in jail so I gave it up. After I got out of the Navy I took a job in Oregon and it was the same thing.

Now I just leave it at home.
Incidentally, this was my normal carry: http://images.shopkershaw.com/...on_Carbide_Coating.jpg

Thats about the sweetest pocket knife you can find these days. I have the matte silver.

It MSRP is 50 bucks but you can find it for about half that price at walmar or bi-mart.

I cary daily my little buck knife. its a great little knife for everyday use.

sometimes i carry either my sog or gerber multi tool.

for hunting i used something like this

when i worked on the farm field i had a small axe.

for safety? none of them. always thought a knife for safety would be more of a libality then help.

though i also have about 50 other pocket knives. i enjoy collecting them.

edit: been carring a pocket knife since about 10 yrs old. when i got one in boy scouts.
