I carry a knife with me at all times (unfortunately my good knife had a few screws come loose, so I'm using my dull swiss army knife) - it's a tool, not necessarily a weapon. My dad does carry a gun when he goes to rough places, though.

Interesting answers to say the least.

I have a Buck Knife (Model 121) that was given to me in the 80s. It rarely comes out of it's sheath. It's more of a collectible.

The daily carry knife I was using is a Winchester 3" flip that I won in a raffle a few years ago. It's small enough to slide into your side pocket. Obviously it wasn't meant nor do I intend to use it as an attack weapon.

Knives for opening things and cutting cords and crap:
People that carry knives, ones intended to cut a bitch:
People that feel they need to be armed to the fucking teeth eating at Olive Garden: :disgust:

I have carried a pocket knife my entire life. (I came out of the womb with one)
I don't think I will ever have to use it for self defense though.

Sometimes I carry a pocketknife, it's handy since it has a bottle opener, screwdriver, etc on it.

You have NO idea what measures are needed to get a lemon wedge for my ice tea at my local Olive Garden.

edit: Most of the people here at my office have shotguns hanging on their walls but then again I think it is okay for us to smoke in our office.

I carry both for two different reasons altogether. The gun is for defense. The knife is for cutting boxes, wires, etc. They are not interchangeable (for me).

I carry a 1.5" long pocket knife... better known as the $15 Swiss-army, budget line knife that I use to cut and file my jagged nails. If shit hits the fan, I guess I'll throw the knife at them?

I use my knife for opening alot of packages, cutting wire, just about anything.

Carrying a weapon is my right, not to mention maybe help someone out or save a life.

or take one...

I'll just use the canned answer everyone likes to use in the cop threads.....If you weren't doing something illegal you shouldn't have to worry.

I'm not going to waste my breath with anymore because there is too many people here that think Guns kill people on their own.

Same thing I think. It seems the majority here think you carry a knife for defense. I would fist fight before I brought out a knife even if the other person had a weapon. And I need to retally my total, as I actually have 2 knives on me everyday. I carry my nice little gerber, and I also have a multitool I use everyday that has a knife on it.

Leatherman Squirt. All you will ever need in your pocket. I'm not carrying a knife to "defend" myself necessarily, I use it for random shit -- open boxes, cutting wires, anything if I ever need pliers, etc. Of course, if someone pulls out a shotgun on me.. well, fuck it.

I always carry my Benchmade Mini-Griptililan, but that's because good old WI doesn't allow concealed carry. They allow open carry, and if you do that anywhere south of the People's Republic of Madison, you'll have the cops called on you in a heartbeat.

Thats about the sweetest pocket knife you can find these days. I have the matte silver.

It MSRP is 50 bucks but you can find it for about half that price at walmar or bi-mart.
