Anyhoo, I used to smoke pretty regularly, now only occasionally. I'm not as sensitive as I used to be, and these days whenever I have access, it tends to be good for a little while, then over the next couple of days (if I smoke continually), it just doesn't do anything.

It's a good release, but too much just leads me to feeling lazy, short of breath, and sometimes paranoid.

Tax it heavily... very heavily. Put it all into public education. I am down with that idea... Billions going into our education system. I would make it illegal until 21 like alcohol though. Only make it 18 when alcohol is 18.

But see, that would never happen. So I prefer it to be illegal. At least those fines go somewhere. I doubt it'd be taxed heavily/if-at-all... and people would just grow it at their home tax free.

This is pretty much how it needs to be done, though your predictions are off. No reason people would be growing it for free. You either:

-set limits to how much you can grow for home, personal use (just as is currently done with booze, you have annual limits to how many gallons you can produce before taxes and penalties apply)

-I think the age should be 21 regardless of the alcohol age. There are responsible users of marijuana and irresponsible users, just like with booze. But it's also quite powerful, and I don't think that on average, a teenager should be considered to have the maturity to treat it responsibly. Yeah, I know this sounds stupid, but there are reasons for age limits. You make it 18, it will make it all that much easier for 16, 14 year-olds to obtain it. Studies have shown that the younger you use MJ, the more it can impact your development. And yeah, your body is still developing at that age. Your neurons are still creating new pathways and such.

Again, I'm all for it, so long as they tax the bejesus out of it and approach it responsibly.

One thing that is important is that if it is legalized, it must be legalized EVERYWHERE. This would limit the influx of the irresponsible, worthless types flooding the new legal zone.

example: Amsterdam. what a fucked-up experiment that is. The Dutch are great people, but Holland being isolated with their uniquely open laws has attracted a rather filthy element that shows up to simple get fucked up, and not to enjoy the more positive benefits. Sucks, b/c it's a gorgeous city.

Start thinking for yourself. Can you think of any good, valid reason not to try smoking/drinking in a good environment with friends? If you can't, and just think to yourself, "I've been taught it's wrong," then you've been brainwashed by anti-drug programs in school. Anytime you ask a high school teacher, "Did you try any of this stuff?", they'll just respond, "We're not here to talk about what I've done."

DId it a few times in high school....I think only twice in college. No desire to do it now. And the smell is horrible. Plus, on certain projects I do at work, I have to take a surprise pee test...testing positive for the reefer would not be good. Once you get past age 20, doing it for recreational use is kind of stupid.

What a good formula! The first time I listened to "House of the Rising Sun" while high with the lights off was amazing.

that's important. I find that writing while high is impossible. It's great for ideas and general brainstorming, but the cognitive abilities required for good writing simply don't work quite right with weed on the brain.

Ridiculous. It gets better as you get older, and after 20, you can actually afford the good stuff. And by good stuff, I mean the stuff that justifies smoking it in the first place.

Also, the smell is divine. Using a vaporizer, the smell is hardly noticeable but the TASTE is incredible.

I highly, highly recommend using a vape for those who partake. It's easily the best way, and the 'cleanest' high you can get.

I'm not close-minded, I let people do what they want.. I tried making friends with stoners at my college and they all didn't care to even try.. They just wanted to get high, I guess. :roll: I don't play an instrument, and really don't care to at this point in my life... (I live with my parents FFS, and we don't have even remotely sound resistance walls) What makes me interesting is what I am not, and not what I am.

Nope, I have found good enough reasons. It wasn't anti-drug programs, because I was never really taught any of that stuff. I came to the decisions on my own. I rather not drink because of relaxed inhibitions. I rather not smoke marijuana because it is smoking. I talked my high school teachers and they honestly would tell us everything they had done. All of my teachers would give you an answer to almost any question.

So, for the most part, my teachers were open doors.
