Who else gets no respect at work?

I HATE my job. When I first started this job I was given the impression that I would be treated as a professional...now I feel like I am in 5th grade or something. People listening to my phone calls and watching me all the time. I could understand if I was a slacker, but I am always on time and I DO MY JOB. It is very hard to though when you get zero appreciation. To make matters worse management here is practically non existant, they all give you completely different answers to every question and seem to constantly switch job titles. I would quit and find something else, but with this job market I cant afford to....what a serious bummer.

I don't like my job either (Well, it's OK...) but I hate the shot calling, and the management... the pay is too low (everyone in the building virtually) and with those couple things bundled together, makes me sick of the place.

I just wish I could quit and start my own business, but I'd have to rob a bank to do it....

I know how you feel!

I left a company after nearly 10 years because I didn't think I was getting the recognition that I deserved.

So, I took a job at another company (as a lower level manager) since the guy who hired me was very good and he said I would get alot of responsibilty.

Within a year, he was forced out and he was replaced by a complete idiot. The upper management was terrible and then I end up getting laid off in August because of "changing priorities" in the company.

I still haven't found a job and everyone in the upper management was insulated from the layoffs, of course.

I would look for another job right away if I were you! There's no need to quit until you find one though.

I'm feeling trapped like that right now too.
Job sucks, pay sucks, management is disorganised, etc.
Can't afford to quit.

Sad thing is I can say the same thing about my craphole of an apartment.
I am half-seriosly considering just leaving everything.
I'm sure rationality will prevail, but it might be fun.
