Brakes are another story, it seems to have a voracious appetite for brake pads, but those are cheap.

You're going through brake pads because the braking system on those was designed for the 1/2 ton pickups. heh. Your Exp weighs a bit more than one of those pickups.

Yeah, they are all like that, my friends Yukon gets 25k on a set of front pads.

137,405 on my '91 Mercury Grand Marquis LS. Had a tranny rebuild a few months back, the only serious work it's ever had done.

They make cars with less than 100,000? Hmmmm....And here I thought the magic car fairy just brought them with 150,000+. Anyway...see below for my car history:

Chevy Conversion van (1984?) 130,000
Mazda RX-7 (1987?) 144,000
Jeep CJ5 (1980) 76,000 or 176,000 not sure which
Nissan Sentra (1984?) 176,000
Acura Integra (1991) 276,000
Infinity Q30 (1990) 175,000
Jeep CJ5 (1979) ??? not sure as it had a rebuilt engine put in at some point

...Wow...I've driven alot of old crappy cars...

my 1995 altima almost did but it died before it got there. I personally have decided not to keep any cars that go over 85000 miles on odometer

I find it VERY hard to believe that a slightly built 350 makes anywhere near 340, even at the flywheel. What modifications did he do? I'm assuming at least the cam, probably heads, maybe even vortec heads/intake for that kind of hp...

What do you think the means? "Slightly built" hint hint. Geez.
That's what the guy that built the engine said it should be around. He's been building them for years, so it's probably about right...

It's got performance heads(10.5CR), moderate cam, and a big carb on it.. that's about all I really know. God, does it get horrible gas milage though. :disgust:

I was under the impression that 340HP from a big V8 like that wasn't really very much though. Can't they go 450+ realitivly easy?

How'd it die? Even a Dodge can make it to 100k with a bit of luck

Most of mine in the past have had over 100,000 miles, in some cases a lot more.

But the car I just bought (2001 Mazda Protégé ES) only has 18,000.
