In terms of my pay, what I drive, and the sorts of things that I own, I'm "poor".

But in terms of my experiences, education, and the sort of work I do, I count myself lucky. I'm generally a happy guy.

I make more than 99% of the country but I still drive my 10 year old Integra and rent a house for $1500/mo. My idea of a good time is drinking beer and playing video games or watching football, I consider myself to be an average Joe

I am not rich(but would love to be), but I can honestly say I am very happy and consider myself lucky. i would even say i have excess(dsl, pc, tv etc). Some people dig for food, but yeah I am happy in life.

I guess I'm a regular Joe, though I'd put myself closer to working class than middle class... hopefully that will change when I move out of the NYC area and out of my stupidly overpriced apartment (not to mention away from having to pay $300 every month for parking)

If you grew up from a humble past, even after you make enough money...I think you are still consider an average joe...well...it depend how you want to live.

I don't think most people would buy a Mcmansion just because they made it pass certain income/wealth level.

Me. Still in college, 2 years to go, or less; hopefully I'll maintain some sanity and keep myself here, though Walmart or general retail does have a strange allure - regular hours, predictable work, low pressure, and minimal responsibility - but once I'm done with college, either way, I don't intend to pursue the big time. Odds are good anyway that most people won't bring in high salaries, otherwise everyone would have 6 digit incomes. No ambition or motivation, and no desire to be a workaholic means I'll probably be destined for the life of an average engineer, whatever that entails. So long as the hours are reasonable and the pay's alright, I should be fine, a "regular Joe" I guess.
