I work at a liquor store we sell tons of Steel Reserve, Camo is popular too, both have a higher content version with 9.1% guess that extra % is needed by some people heheh.

OE has a new 9+% brew, that's borderline scary when a mainstream beer is close to hitting 10% alkie

So I picked one up tonight in honor of V-day...hadn't had it before...and damn if i don't like it! I like Mickey's though...and it reminds me of that kinda. I'm happy with it for the price. It's no Guinness, but i can get a LOT more SR for the money.

Why would I want to "handle" something that's sh!tty and does the job passably when something that's good does the job better. If I feel the need to get drunk hard alcohol beats horse piss hands down.

Actually, i really don't need to defend it, because i don't give a crap. I like it, as i like Mickey's. So no worries. I'd rather pay $2.50 for a 40 of Steel than $20 for a DECENT bottle of hard liquor...and i don't care for the cheap $5 vodka...so it's a good deal IMO.

damn those are 1.50 out here in so cal, where do you see them for a buck? I have not tried Black Ice, but the regular Camo @ 9.1 (I believe) is pretty strong.

I agree with dude who said get hard liquor if you just wanna get drunk, but I don't think any sane person would drink this Camo Black Ice for the taste, I can't imagine it's delicious

If the dollars are low and you can't afford hard liquor (they do make 99c shooters BTW) you could always get a small bottle of MD 20/20 or Cisco for about 1.75-2.00 bucks, 19-20% alc and will really leave you tore the hell up.

Steel Reserve is horrible, dudes who drink it daily are crazy in the head! We have a guy who comes in the store I work almost daily to get 2 40's of S.R. and a newspaper. 80 ounces of S.R. is insane, and I can only guess he doesn't nurse them all day either

SR where I live is 6.0% and actually half tasty. Much better than the 8.1% and still noticeably stronger than regular beer. I've never liked any beer above 6.0, even expensive stuff.

At the convenience store I used to work at, we had this lady that would come in EVERY night and buy 10 22- or 24-oz cans, can't remember the size. If we didn't have 10 cans in the door, she'd make us go get more. Somehow I don't think she was sharing, either, because she told us she was a preacher's daughter and had to have the stuff bagged a certain way so her parents didn't know she was drinking. She looked to be in her late 20's to early 30's, too. Crazy!
