Who else in the DC area is intending to stay late at work?

I actually work up in Baltimore but I figure staying late is a given for today. My boss was coming in late today, but apparently she's stuck in traffic on 95 north...not sure when she'll make it in. It does not make me hopeful for a smooth commute this evening.

I figure I'll save myself some headache and just stay late, grab dinner up here, and hope traffic will be bearable by time I live.

Anyone else of the same mindset?

This little bit of snow is not going to stop VRE. Worst ride I ever had on VRE was in the summer and the problem was caused by a thunderstorm in Jacksonville, Florida.

Death by snoo snoo. It was awesome and terrible at the same time. I'm coming back to life so I might experience it again.

Isn't that unlikely? I remember you mentioning that VRE shut down at one point last year, and how rare that is. I dont think the snow is enough to stop public transit, just enough to make the commutes suck more than they already do.

Very unlikely, worst thing about snow and the VRE is the influx of newbs that normally drive and decide to take the train when it snows.

Dunno, never been on MARC. VRE is a zoned system so you have to buy tickets based on the zone you are in vs the zone you are traveling to. You then have to validate the ticket on the platform before getting on the train. My understanding is that the trains are very crowded normally now and when you add in the extra when it snows it can be miserable.
