they're okay, I guess, but musically, they cannot compare to the likes of Zao or Extol. Listen to the song "To Think of You is Treasure an Absent Memory" by Zao and ask yourself if Linkin Park can make their guitars sound like that.

I just bought Lateralus by Tool, and I like Linkin Park and all, but if you really want to hear something good buy Tool (or at least dload it)

Being a musician, I personally can not STAND when a band doesn't write their own music. Therefore, I can;t respect linkon park in the least. I do, however, second the thought of picking up ANY Tool album, great stuff.

Anyway, I love Linkin Park, as they actually ARE talented, and fuse the different types of music seamlessly. They are NOT like Limp Bizkit, who make empty "music" for the sole purpose of the money and "rock star life", and generally lack talent (except for Wes Borland, who left) Even if Linkin, or other "legitimate" rock bands partake of the life or obtain money, it certainly wasn't about it, or at least it wasn't so blatant...

They write their own music, and it's great music too. Mike Shinoda (sp?) is especially good at blessing the microphone..
