It's kinda hard to get into a private school and secure financial aid with no extracurriculars and mediocre grades. It's kinda hard to amass the extracurriculars and keeps the grades up when you're pulling 8 hours shifts when you get out of class.

I guess it's my fault, but when you're 16 and the only way you're going to get a car, or new clothes, or spending money is to earn it yourself, it was a pretty easy decision to forego the glee club and the homework to put more hours in at my McJob.

Went to a private-better school, and they actually gave me money for my ACT/GPA/all that jazz. The private school costs around 23,000 a year normally, but I get like 18,000 a year in scholarships-none based on need.

The public school up here (University of MN, Duluth) costs 16,000-18,000 a year I think, and they would have given me a whopping 1,000 a year.
