How's the software for the 7 series cards? Can you guys do a full run of the AMD stress test?
The software is good enough for how new it is, hopefully it will continue to improve. As for the built in stress test, it doesn't seem to work properly for me, it goes for a few seconds at load, then drops to idle clocks. Then it says stress test completed at the end...but that doesn't tell me much at idle clocks

I guess my recommendation would be just to test in games / benchmarks for any tweaking.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, that seems to be the issue I'm hearing as it didn't work for me either. I was beginning to think it was my PSU but a wall watt/amp reader didn't return any readings to back up the confidence in that. However HWinfo64 backed up the peak wattage from the wall yet that's GPU + System watts.. either way glad to know the issue isn't just isolated to me.

Hmm, wonder how long the Liquid Devil will last before it's sold out? Might be nice to get one. Or an ASRock Aqua.

So now the card is in "announced" stage, with quite a few details missing, such as price, factory overclocking levels etc.

There are a few articles out saying it is using water block by EK.

They speculate about availability from mid-February, which is just 4 days from now...

Having been the last 15 years as a NVIDIA fan boy.
Sorry NVIDIA! I am no longer.
Sold my 3090ti and got this bad boy "Powercolor Red Devil LE OC 7900XTX" version with some $$$ change left (local MC near me).
Card is built like a tank with very quiet cooling fans and very nice RGB.
So far I am very happy with its performances across my gaming experiences after spending a last few days tweaking game graphic profiles. (A bit of learning curve here too that my last Red card was under an ATI Radeon name. )
My popular FPS game’s frame rates shot way up by comparisons to the 3090 ti.
I do game in both VR and non-VR in MSFS and DCS and the card thus far exceeded my expectations in both graphic and performances.
In MSFS it hovers around 60-80 in Ultra settings. In VR frame rate is right around 40s.
I could not believe my eyes when I saw over 100fps in DCS high settings and the buttery smooth in game.
Truth be told...Its FSR and RT seem lagging behind the other team.
A few weeks ago I did try the 4080 which is very impressive card at its oww rights but 16GB VRAM was the bottleneck in both MSFS and DCS VR mode in comparisons to my 3090ti.
Very impressive yet! But will see how long this card gonna last me.

How much did it cost you? I still can't find the Liquid Devil in stock anywhere (not sure if it's for sale yet) so I may have to get a Red Devil and slap an EK block on it. Once the block is available. Or something.

Though I think the best deal in a waterclocked 7900XTX will be when Alphacool launches the Merc Speedster block in March/April.

Paid a tiny bit over $1k tax included in my local MC near me.

I just wanted to add this specifically for those flight simmers like myself.
Gaming in VR with either DCS or MSFS (mine is HTC VP2) .
VRAM usage hovers close to 20gb plus the frame rate around 40s and I was like "holy moly. "
The previous 3090ti never was able to reach that high frame rate.

Installed my new XFX Merc 7900XTX:

Stock settings, just with fan curve maxed at 60% for noise reasons. High ambient of 26°C. I'll probably do what I do with every AMD GPU... set max frequency to 90% and use Radeon Chill and use wayyyyy less power to achieve my target FPS (120-240FPS for my 1440p 240Hz monitor).

My score is much lower than that or around 19k. Would my 4k display make that much difference?

Displays can make a small difference but the test runs at a fixed resolution regardless of your monitor resolution

Timespy or Timespy Extreme?

If it's the regular Timespy that seems low, considering I could hit 23K on the XFX 7900XT non-X

What is your GPU score? Could it be that the overall score is lower due to CPU score?

Time Spy (diectx12)
GPU scores 19687
CPU 13037
FPS 180+ for BFV

Obviously my score is a bit too low. I am fairly new to AMD's Adrenaline settings. (ex-NVIDIA here for quite sometime)
SO I can use some advice what your settings are

Messed around with Adrenaline and enabled the Sup res feature and the new scores just skyrocketed.

Overall = 25312
GPU = 30207
CPU = 13196
FPS 185+ for BFV

I still can use some advice for game settings.
I do a lot of siming such as DCS and MSFS with and without VR headset.

Would it impact performance or lower fps?
From my testing with an RX 6800, there wasn't a huge difference. The lower temps were much more worth the slight 3 to 5% loss in performance. The lower temps may also help to let the GPU boost to higher frequency, improving performance.
