I know it is for Wednesday but after the ACH transfer delay it will be Friday.
401K will get handled by the employer - line item on the W2,Still waiting on stuff. Changed jobs half way through the year, the new job sent me my W2's but my old one hasn't yet. Not sure what I need to collect for my investments either, since I started investing in stocks for my company (through my company, we get discounted rates and buying periods so not sure if I get paper work for that) and I now have a 401K that I've built up (only 22, so I started young...or late?) so I'm wondering where and when I get stuff from that.
Then I'm pretty sure I get paper work from my schools and from my college tuition fund that I have set up.
I'm expecting about a thousand back. That's what I've always gotten, although I made more last year, so I'm not sure how it'll work out.
Honest question, why would I have gotten mine early last year?
Why do people enjoy giving the goverment a free loan? It's your money, adjust your withholdings such that you only overpay a little bit. i do the same thing, but for different reasons:
Side consulting business (that is a sole proprietorship) + etsy/ebay/dividend income that I pay income tax out of my main job and my wifes tax refund each year. Claim married, withhold at higher rate, 0 exemptions - it comes out to be a wash.
lol I haven't even received my W2 yet.
Broker for the 401k or stocks? Stocks are through the company (although I think we partner with eTrade?) and the 401k is through Charles Schwab.401K will get handled by the employer - line item on the W2,
Unless you sold investments, no paperwork required - but you need to keep track of purchases for later on. If the company is using some type of broker; they will provide you with statements.
Sounds rough.I made about $50K more than I expected this year. No refund for me, I think I'm going to owe a lot .
Broker will be for the stocks. If you sold them you will get a statement from them.Broker for the 401k or stocks? Stocks are through the company (although I think we partner with eTrade?) and the 401k is through Charles Schwab.
Same here.
Our payroll officer's sister was murdered last week though, so I'm cutting him some slack
I'm still short a couple documents. Typically, Sharebuilder doesn't post it's 1099 forms until mid-February.
then you better make your estimate tax NOW. IRS doesn't like it when you owe them too much.
If taxes were withheld from the severance, you should be OKI'll be doing my taxes as soon as I get my 2nd W2, but I won't owe the full taxes on that amount. All of my income had taxes withheld, but (unless I'm mistaken) the companies estimate what % to withhold based on your W4 and your salary. I'm guessing I'll owe several thousand dollars since the withholding will be very under estimated.
BTW- most of the extra $$ is due to a large, lump sum severance.
If taxes were withheld from the severance, you should be OK
Tax on Severance/bonus is supposed to be withheld at the highest tax bracket as if that was the income every pay period. They were. But, since with all combined income I entered a new tax bracket, that wouldn't have been accounted for in the withholding %, correct?
