My next move is to put the truck on a diet. Especially in the front. It has, IIRC, about 2700lbs on the front tires. :Q

I would be willing to race you with my 318. Not really stock, pulls better than a stock 340. I need an axle swap so bad. Ugghh....2.45 gears blow.

Preach on, my brother!

It's too bad it's not more common. If you could learn to be adept at that, you can handle most anything on the road. When cars used to all be RWD it was a determining factor on whether you drove or not. It helped keep morons from driving, or at least kept them sliding off the roads so as to discourage them greatly.

However, try this. Try driving a car in falling snow that had a short that would cause it to stall if you EVER took your foot off the gas whenever it was put in gear. If you put it in gear without giving it gas, it stalled. That was an adventure. I probably halved the life of my brake pads getting home that night, but I got there in one piece without making my car slither across the road.

!!! That's what my whole car weighs. But I guess an engine block weighs quite a bit.

427 big block, 440 cubic inches (.072" over), 14-1 custom JE pistons, heavily massaged rectangle port heads, Comp Cams .714" roller, 1050 BG carb.
Best 1/8 mile, 6.96@98mph. About 4050 lbs w/me in it. Est. HP is 640.
For people who don't know, a 7.00 in the 1/8=10.90 in the 1/4.

no way the only thing that owns me is supras!

My block is extra-heavy, since it's half filled with block filler, which is basically concrete.

Umm, I'm a little late to the party but here goes:

1989 Shebly CSX (#212 of 500)

2.2 VNT Turbocharged motor (Variable geometry turbo)
Stage 2 ECU (15psi, more aggressive spark/fuel curves)
Full 2.5" exhaust
Dynomax Ultraflo
Catco Cat
K&N Cone intake
Talon Blowoff Valve
Autometer A/F and Boost gauges
Accel wires and colder than stock plugs

that's about it. Waiting for nicer weather to take her to the track Next up for mods is a higher flowing fuel pump I have waiting for the car. Also want to get the head ported and polished with matching manifolds. The tranny is looking at a rebuild to beef it up as well.

Either you're joking or you think your car can run 10's/low 11's

hmmmm

I am not joking at all.

Well I'll be waiting for some timeslips then I'll admit I'm not familiar with your setup (as far as what kind of HP you can expect from your bottom/top end combo), but I'm sure the Nitrous will chop off a good chunk of your E/T, especially once it's dialed in right.

6.5 to 60? Good grief that is fast. Those cars must be pretty light.

Unless you got a 5.0, Mustangs are worthless.

Id have to disagree. the 5.0's are worthless and you need a 351 or a 428 or something with some meat to it..

Dude are you serious??? 5.0's are bad. The newer Mustangs suck, are ugly, and are ugly (already said that, but they are still ugly). If you have a model after 96, you have the crappy Mustang.[/quote]

96 Mustangs had a mod motor. Shows how informed you are...

Comp Cams 918 Springs/Titanium Retainers/Chromoly Pushrods
Yank TT2800/3.0str Torque Converter
MAC Performance Headers and Off road Y pipe (I run open header at the track)
NO STICKERS -150HP

Haven't finished installing it all yet or gotten it dynoed though, needs a good dyno tune to get it all dialed in after i'm finished.

Fastest STOCK track time was 13.44@105.9MPH and it had a few more tenths to shave but I was launching easy since it was a new car.

Are you sure about those numbers? My V6 Duratec has 200HP and only 157 ft lbs of torque. My 0-60 is closer to 8 :-|

Wow dude nice assumption. I really could care less about any Mustang, but the fact remains. And thanks, but your fake Saleen is garbage. Ever ridden in a real Mustang?? Doubt it.

Nice post, but you sidestepped the fact that you were wrong. Evidently you DO care about Mustangs because they are the only car you have been talking about in this thread. Now what did you drive again? Your flame is pretty misplaced because I fail to see how you have shown any proof of transportation except for your own two feet.

Once again you said that after 96... well in 96 the mod motor existed(96-98 was a crappy time for the mod motor) and was in the mustang. You were wrong and rather than admit it, you tried a halfhearted attempt at flaming me. Next time when you want to flame someone make sure your statements are accurate. I have no doubt my 'garbage' made you feel jealous. If not... then why the attack? All I did was point out that you were wrong. Grow some thicker skin, get your driver's license, graduate middle school and then come back and post.

Again, brilliant assumption(s). Where did I ever say anything about any Mustang engine in that post. I mentioned something in the beginning of the thread where I said anything except a 5.0 is garbage (which is true). I can tell you have never studied anything about an argument because you clearly have jumped to many conclusions in the span of 5 minutes. I don't need to respond to prove anything about my knowledge, what I drive, or how much of a bad ass I am because I think I have a fast car, unlike you. As far as me being "jealous" about your wanna be Saleen (as I stated before). Save it. Obviously you have never seen, or even sat in, any serious sports car with a remark like that. I don't know where you are from, but judging from the go AU sig, you don't live in an area where >$100,000 cars are common. Also, about my "transportation". You think for one second that a car makes you a better person than me (clearly because you flame me by saying I only travel places with my 2 feet). Geeze you sound like a fraternity kid who talks on his cell phone all day long and thinks he's above the world. Just cuz mommy bought you something you think "looks fast" and someone is making fun of it, you get angry. My opinion shouldn't matter to you, because it is just that; an opinion. As far as "Evidently you DO care about Mustangs because they are the only car you have been talking about in this thread". Look back and tell me what I specifically said. The thread starter said he had a Stang. I then said something about the 5.0's. I never brought up anything about a Mustang until that point. Lastly, as far as "growing thicker skin". You or no one else on these boards will ever ruin my day. I don't ever get upset enough to start crying by a comment made by someone who is obviously smarter, better looking, and much much cooler than I.
You have just been pwned, and I am done. FLAME AWAY!!
