who has a loft bed?

for those of you that have a loft bed how do u deal with sleeping so close to the ceiling. because i just got a loft bed. and it is so damn close to the ceiling. but i have no choice since my apt room is so damn small and i have a roommate

I had a loft bed...in my own room...I bought it before I saw my place and I ended up having way too much space left over

I was about 4 ft from the ceiling in mine... I liked sleeping up there. One problem, though... it's tough to have sex in one of those things without thinking you're going to shake the damned thing to the ground.

I had a lofted bed in college last year. Put my desk and computer underneath saved tons of room. Anyway usually when I was in bed I was sleeping and it was dark so it didn't really matter if I was close to the ceilling. I lay on my stomach anyway so I can't really see the ceiling. I was really close to. If I put my arm straight up I could touch my ceiling while laying down. I whacked my head a few times in the morning when I would wake up and sit up real quick.


edit: I definetly wouldn't have sex up there unless its made out of iron or something.

I personally don't like loft beds, it kinda ruin the moment when u wanna get on ur bed with another person, u know, like making out when ur coming in from the door, and then, well, u have to climb up, what a mood killer

also it gets kinda squeaky too being on top and it may wake up the roommate

LOL I remember falling down off of one when I was a child. Actually I was about 1/4 down the ladder when I lost grip (it was 3 AM, I was tired and it was pitch black) and just fell. Ah the memories

i'm under one right now. i love the thing. none sleeps on top, so there is extra storage space. i think i have become attached to this thing too, something about having this wood top right over my head. I have always liked small places, and I think it has to do witht he fact that I have slept under here my whole life. I don't know about the sex thing, i have not tried that yet...
