I first came across Anandtech and the forums in the fall of '97 while looking for Matrox Millenium reviews (I think I followed a link from Tom's)...I lurked for a while, and didn't start posting regularly until the time around the WMC incident. I loved it when I was accused of being a spy for Buycomp.

i signed on a few days after fusetalk came online. i had classes, sue me.

i am a remnant of a member of the pre fusetalk days... i was under a slightly different moniker... heck, i had a different email address too.

i remember the days before off topic and hot deals... those were better ones =)

now, after several server mishaps (main and forum), i'm still here.

heck, i remember russ from the UBB days... lol... sucks to be me ;-)

too bad they did not ask me to participate in the beta testing of fusetalk =(, i was a much more helpful member back then... now, i just nef, because i have no money, and am not stupid enough to make myself drool doing all the stuff i used to do =(

I used anandtech at the begining of the school year of 1999, but finally joined when I first decided to post.

also: I agree with inguyen VA deals were great

and also with crab boy the deals used to be much better back in the day

Joined back in UBB days, didn't post much then.

It's funny because I used to visit the main site quite a bit and always kept wondering why in the hell Anand would always try to placate the poor board users when the server was done. I mean, who cares about a stupid message board anyway?

Then I joined. It's been downhill since.

Lurked in the UBB days, but didn't actually register until I wanted to post a reply to something. Of course, I mostly post in the winter... Summers are for cavorting, not posting.

I remember most of that. Red Dawn setting up newbies Willy Nilly, and Russ moving in for the kill shot. NWM constantly getting banned. Johnlee's psychobabes. Sorley Boys carpet bomb attacks during his debates. I think it was Rio Rebel that renamed H8tank to H8dolph, correct me if I'm wrong. They provided some very funny stuff, thanks guys!

I didn't have too fat of a wallet around the time of the WMCs and I didn't get in on the deal, so I'm probably not the best source. But from what I remember, there was either a mispricing or some great deal on Samsuing (Hitachi?) monitors on buy.com and a ton of people ordered them, only to see all their orders cancelled by buy.com. Carolyn was the forerunner of the suits, which, I think are still pending, right? :Q

It was a 19&quot; Hitachi for I think $164.95. It retailed for around 600.

Mine is still showing as backordered and I expect it any day now.

I understand that my son has been making a mess here at this web site. I have to apologize for his behaviour.
His father and I are at our wits end with him. We've tried everything; psychiatrists, counseling, tough love. Nothing seems to work. We simply don't know why he turned out the way he did.

Please believe me when I tell you that all of our other children turned out just fine. He is the only one with all these problems.

The school counseler says that it might be because he has a 1&quot; penis and the other boys make fun of him when he is in the shower. I don't think this is the problem though. As a homosexual, it really shouldn't matter since he always plays the female role and doesn't use it anyway.

The psychiatrist suggested that it might be because of all the sexual abuse from his Uncle when he was younger. But, since he enjoys that type of thing, I don't think that's it either.

Maybe it's because we caught him molesting the dog a few years ago? Or the fact that he has the worst case of acne ever recorded, and the kids are always calling him pizza face?

Or it could be that bed-wetting thing. I mean, my God, at 16 years old, you'd think he could get up and go to the bathroom instead of peeing all over himself every night!

Again, I am very sorry for all this. You could really help us out if you would simply remember that he has a lot of problems, both mental and physical, and react to him accordingly.
