A coworker and I were doing an informal poll at various places. For some reason it seemed males were picking vehicle on the left and females were picking vehicles on the right. We figured we were were biased and it just "seemed" that way.

The numbers above reinforce that.

I agree the least cared about, biggest, rustiest, fast, and FIBs(Illinois) have right of way when I am at a 4way, but traffic code says otherwise.

I just get there and make a quick assessment as to whether the driver next to me is retarded. 9 times out of 10 they are, and don't realize they have the right of way, so I just go rather than sit there waiting for their dumb ass to realize they are supposed to go.

In this part of the country, it's an economic rule: The more expensive car will, almost invariably, attempt to go first. i.e. That Mercedes Benz S class will run over me and my Acura TL.

I don't trust other drivers so I would tend to let the vehicle on the left go first. They have a better chance of turning this into an accident than I do.

THIS! OMG this.

SO many times retards will attempt to eschew decades of traffic law and try to be "nice" and screw everything up by letting me go first. It takes a long ass time to communicate from a stop sign idiot! GD I wish I could just hit them.
If we all followed the same rules and weren't dumbasses things could go much more smoothly.

If there is a correct answer to the question, then I would assume it would be the vehicle on the right going counter-clockwise around the intersection. But I can't seem to remember "the law" on this.

Poll is rigged or my driver's ed teacher lied. B/c this is what he taught me.

Car on the right, but I never assume they know this (if they're on the left.) I always make eye contact before proceeding.

Also, their car is nicer than my car, so I always have the right of way.

The reality is the bigger vehicle goes first. If you are on a moped and get to a 4 way stop the same time as a bigrig, let the big rig go first.

With our informal workplace polling, most men said left where most females were correct with stating right. Our numbers were way too small to truely form an opinion, so here I am. The mostly male dominated forum of ATOT. Would the poll show right or left? The righties have it!!
