Right now, I'm sitting at 782,645 between all my programs (chase, southwest, barclays, delta, united, usair, American)

I dont think I will ever pay for a flight again.

What you got?

Signup bonuses, and putting every dime I spend on credit cards, different ones depending on category bonuses, and paying them off every month. This was mostly on one credit profile, ie my own, but I just realized a few months ago that they amended income reporting requirements a few years ago so non-working spouses can claim household income on credit card applications, so I'm starting to get a bunch of signup bonuses under my wife's name as well.

My wife and I are somewhere in the 1.25-1.5 million range. They aren't points but I've also got a couple of free day rentals from National Car as well. Of course it also matters what points they are as some are a bit more valuable than others

Numbers are below. I traveled quite a bit at my first job out of college for 5 years. Just changed jobs 4 months ago and I actually want to travel for my vacation!

Weak numbers compared to some on flyertalk.

AA Miles - ~ 1.9M (Lifetime Plat)
HHonor - ~ 1.1M
Hyatt - 600k
Amex MR - ~ 1.3M

I'm looking for some Amex and HHonor points for an upcoming trip.

None, because I just get cash back like a normal person.

If you have any interest in traveling, travel rewards are much more lucrative than cash back. I could spend just a fraction of my points for a pair of tickets to the Seychelles islands that would cost over 12k in cash. Those points would be worth less than $1500 if I actually redeemed for cash.

Those Hilton points are almost worthless now (at nicer hotels) or in big cities. That is still a lot, but it can probably only get you like 10 nights at a big city non "suites" hotel.

I have

250k Hilton Honors
100k Hyatt
100k Delta (even more worthless)
100k Alaska Airlines
30k Southwest

I've never heard of any rewards program offering more than 3%.

I agree that the real winners won't say a word...I have a few hundred thousand Delta miles probably just north of a million?

I have at least 10 friends who could shame me in terms of miles/points.

jesus how did you get so many spg pts?

back when the economy was bad (2005-2008) SPG used to run tons of promos, I used to check in and out everyday when there was more than 1 starwood hotel in the city I was staffed in and would avg like 2-3K points a night

that was the only good part of being a consultant

Sure the point valuation is low but hilton points are stupidly easy to earn. I would regularly earn ~32 points per dollar spent before any promotions (which often netted an additional 10-15 points per dollar spent) Combine that with the ability to earn upwards of 480,000 points per year through credit card sign up bonuses and you can get a lot of utility out of them
