Who hates starcraft?

Its recently come to my attention that some people actually dont like starcraft... some say they hate it... I perssonally cant believe this at all and think that they are actually being sarcastic or just joking. I may be wrong though :Q

So... Who hates starcraft and why do you hate this amazing game?

Because it turned into a game with fastest money maps, people turtling up and massing carriers and battle cruisers.

Hey! I resemble that remark.

I only play micro maps against computers because I suck at RTS games. I got tired of losing 100% of the time.

I started playing it again recently with some friends and oh man does Ventrilo make the game 1000 times better. I cant believe we used to play this game typing messages to eachother.


It does get pretty boring though with the "fastest" maps... everyone builds like a hundred gateways or 200 hatcheries and just pump out the same unit en masse like an assembly line. it really kills alot of strategic play when its just mindless mass unit attacks.

Good thing people still play BGH, its still the best map IMO.

Yeah, the balance and standard build orders are totally out of whack on those "$$$FASTEST FASTEST ULTRA FASTEREST MAP$$$$" maps. And that is all that anyone plays. Its a totally different game when you have to factor in running out of minerals...you can't just turtle and build 10,000 canons.

i never fell in love with it like lots of people did.
the same way with several other games like HL2 and Oblivion. Mediocre at best.

I love Starcraft, but I don't play on Battle.net.

Edit: and I'd love it even more if they'd release a patch to support 1024x768 or 1280x1024.

I enjoyed Starcraft well enough, but it was never a favorite for me. I don't like all the micromanagement where a lot of the units have special powers so you need to spend all your time in battle constantly selecting each unit and targetting its power.

I hate StarCraft. It's just way too hard.

J/K. I think starcraft is one of the coolest RTS games, but I do find it way too hard. I think I just suck at RTS.

Play a UMS with friends. I recommend "the thing v.black" for maximum confusion and fun. Room wars is good too, rare though. Hot potato is also awsome.

I agree. If blizzard took the exact same game mechanics, units, maps, etc and just stuck them in a new updated engine I'd buy it. And I actually think most other people would too.

I've always disliked RTSs that covered too much of the map with buttons and navagation icons. That was my problem with SC. You couldn't see enough of the map which is why it had a short stay on my HD.

Theres like 4 buttons on the botton right... and two on the bottom left for chat and alliances, and a really tiny menu button in the middle. Thats 7 buttons, 7 buttons is too much? Go play supreme commander, your head will explode then

I have never played this game but when I was younger and I wanted to hang out with a couple friends of mine, they were always playing. Then they got tired of this and started playing Diablo... those games are the devil I tell you

Several years ago I spent more than 5000 hours just playing various custom maps over the Battle.Net, and at the time it was my favorite game. Pretty soon the whole internet gaming thing got old and got pretty sick of the game. I still play it a good bit from time to time, but it doesn't do for me what it used to. The music and graphics are both among the greatest in gaming to this day, I will admit.

Still, it's much better than all the other crap Blizzard has released. Bar iD, they're the most overrated game producer ever.

EDIT: I miss the days when Snowbound and such maps were as common as DOTA is now on WC3. Those were the best.
