who here bought a TV from amazon.com before?

amazon has a kick ass deal starting today, the samsung LN52B750 for $1950, plus free asus netbook (1005HA-V, my wife was just looking to buy a netbook, $320 value) the samsung is better than the sony at costco that i was recently looking at, the KDL52VL150 (240hz vs 120hz, higher contrast ratio, built in internet gimmic, etc)

its cheaper to buy the better samsung with free netbook than buying the sony and a separate netbook. i would feel stupid to pass this up but I just never bought a tv from amazon before...care to share your experiences?

I bought a TV from them - everything worked exactly the same as if you bought it from Best Buy or local store. My friend had similar experiences.

Amazon is pretty much awesome when buying anything. I haven't bought a TV from them but wouldn't hesitate to do. No tax FTW.

Never from Amazon, but have gotten TVs from Tiger Direct. The TV is the TV, all Amazon does is ship it, so if you like the model go for it.

I would take a close look at their return policy, just in case the TV arives and is defective.

I ordered a Panasonic Plasma. Amazon will ship the TV to the freight company, and the freight company will give you a call to arrange a time to deliver it to you. If it is not an indoor delivery, be prepared to haul it from the curb or slip each guy $20.

Not from Amazon, but I ordered a 50" plasma from Crutchfield. It's the same process anyway, they ship via a freight carrier. I was a little worried about ordering something that big and expensive online, but the process went great, and I was totally happy.

yes, the tv is the same if i bought it elsewher., what i was concern about is if i have any problem with the set. i understand the delivery guys bring it in the house and set it up before leaving, correct? what happens if i find things like dead pixels or clouding or other things that would only be apparent at night, after the delivery guys left. how is the return/exchange policy with amazon regarding big ticket items? i know the return policy is pretty much awesome with little things, but i've don't have experience with such a big item.

Bought a 40" Samsung LCD from Amazon. Got a great deal, then they dropped the price twice over the next 30 days and refunded the difference each time. Free in-home delivery and setup. He stayed at my house until the TV was setup and working properly and he hauled away the packing materials. Great experience!

I just bought that same tv through amazon.com and a LN40A550 back in october, no problems here. However i'm not seeing the the LN52B750 at that price you mentioned.

After reading the reviews, i bought a samsung 46 a couple of years ago. One of the best product i ever bought. I will buy most things at Amazon except for grocery and clothes.

I bought a 52" Samsung LCD on Amazon in May of 2008 and it arrived just fine. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

I bought a 40" Samsung LCD from them 4 years ago, and would do it again. Their "white glove" service kicks ass. They brought it in, set up, took the boxes away...it was pretty cool.

I had to use their service plan once when Samsung forgot to put a screw on one side of an HDMI port, causing it to break. A tech came out and had it fixed within 3 days.

I bought my 46" Samsung LCD from Amazon last summer.

Five days after placing my order, the CEVA crew showed up at my apartment, unboxed it, and set it on my entertainment center. My only complaint was that they were clearly in a hurry and rushed me (they did the unboxing in about 30 seconds), but I didn't want them to do anything besides deliver it, anyway.

I would definitely use Amazon again.
