Yup, just for looks

Inwin 500 tower. From the top to the bottom:

3.5"
5.25"
32x CDRW
4x CDROM
16x dvd
1x cdrom

I'm sure it impresses the chicks. I just wanted all my bays filled.

Oh Yeah, nothing impresses the chicks more than a guy who knows how to properly fill up bays.

I have several, and they work these old P100s.

I had two 5.25" floppy drives, but I gave one out to someone who strangely wanted a 486.

I dont have a 3.5" floppy drive even.

I just updated the BIOS on my motherboard, and it required that I use the 3.5" floppy....

I'm pretty sure you could also make a bootable CD-R to flash your BIOS.

Yup, no floppy here either. I guess I should put one in before I leave for school just in case...

I am almost sure that those will not work on an X86 machine. Different track/sector layout I think. I also think the cable/interface is physically different, but it's been a long time since I worked with 8" drives.

my friend thinks he's cool, he went on ebay and put a 5.25 " 1.2mb / 3.5 inch combo floppy drive in his p4 2.4 ghz!

Your friend is a putz. But since he seems to have money to burn, send him my way, i have some old Microchannel video cards and a 300 baud modem or two for his P4 rig that i'll let him buy for cheap

used it to fill up my last bay, and its black so it matches the case. Have a few blank 1.2mb disks laying around, gonna try and collect some old games and try to install them.

I still have a 5.25" floppy in the closet. I think I threw out most of the 5.25" disks though.

As for a 3 1/2", My living (even if it is pathetic right now) is made by dealing with computer problems. I have to have a 3 1/2" floppy to make boot disks and such. I even went out of my way and ordered my 8100 notebook by phone when Dell was closing them out, just so I could have a floppy drive in it.

Oh yeah. 5.25" floppy drives are awesome. I picked up a package deal of 3 Teac FD-505s on eBay for about $14.50 shipped. Very awesome! They're combination 3.5" and 5.25" drives that take up one 5.25" bay. The nice part is that you don't need to go looking around for an old school 5.25" cable either -- you only need one 3.5" connector on your cable and both drives run off it.

This is a cool novelty! I even broke out my 10 year old copy of Lemmings on 5.25" disks and played it for 20 minutes.
