I'm a geotechnical engineer and I get paid really well to travel the world. I've been chased by a polar bear near the North Pole and I've trapped scorpions in Mexico. I'm currently in Alaska and have the most beautiful northern lights with bright greens, whites and reds filling the sky most nights. This summer I will be working in Chile in the driest location on the planet. In the fall I might be in Africa or Australia.

It is labor intensive though and you have to tolerate the elements and go months on end without a break. But then you get weeks off at a time between rotations. I hate "9 to 5" jobs so this is perfect for me.

I believe this is the coolest and toughest job posted yet.

I work IT for a major sports organization with great benefits and awesome perks. At my last job, I also worked IT but led global projects and as a result, got to travel to Europe, Asia, and South America. I've had some pretty cool gigs.

I worked at Disney World for 7 years.

At a character breakfast where people pay lots of money to get pictures taken with the characters.

Only worked 6 hour days, only 3 of that actually working, was home by 1pm every day and since it was Disney World everyone was always in a good mood and having fun.

Was easily the most fun I ever had working.

Working at a theme park isn't always so great, though I guess it kind of depends on which one you work at. The character breakfasts were always good though... they were right when the park opened so everyone was pleasant since they hadn't waited in any lines yet.

<-- worked in a theme park for about 5 seasons

I used to have an IT consulting job where I got paid $50 a hour to babysit servers on weekends. It was a 12 1/2 hour shift, and I might have spent 30 minutes of that actually working on the average day. The rest of the time I played Facebook and iPhone games, and watched sports on the TV they had in the operations center.

I work for a large cable/internet provider in the call center.

I get yelled at on a daily basis by customers. My bosses are all completely out of touch with reality and have no idea how to do my job. My job is constantly at risk because of this. I could walk in and lose my job any day of the week. Corporate keeps coming up with new policies basically limiting me on what I can do to help customers out all while coming up with new demands on my metrics. Basically they want me to do more and more with less and less. Did I mention that my commissions are currently 20% of what they were last year at this time?

But I do get to work with a crazy ass bunch of people. Work sucks but the people I work with are awesome.

Some type of light armored carrier... armored gun system? Didn't make it into full production did it? Don't recall all the details. amiright or amirong?

Yeah it was a light tank for the airborne divisions. Excellent vehicle with a 105 mm on a vehicle weighing half what a Bradley does yet has nearly the same hp. They made less than 10...stupid politics got it killed right before full production. It'd be awesome for infantry support in Afganistan mountains.

Yup I worked at a theme park also when I was a kid. Not the greatest job in the world and it depends what you did there but you can do much worse.

Call center work is designed usually with the flunkies in mind.

Work as an ER nurse in a level one Trauma Center, don't get as much trauma as we used to at my old job. But I work with mostly decent people, some of the docs I work with are weenie research pricks who should stay in a lab full time and not interact with people. Otherwise I get to do some pretty cool stuff, see some pretty cool stuff and generally take care of people which I enjoy.

Eventually I'm going to work my way into the hospital flight nursing program. Ride in helicopters/airplanes all over the state saving lives, hells yes!

Sound/Lighting on a cruise ship. Basically anything that moves, runs on electricity or air, needs oil, emits sound or light and is for the purpose of entertainment I'm responsible for. Seven days / week sometimes 16+ hours each day. Never a dull moment for sure. When something breaks you cannot run to a hardware store and buy parts! Improvisation and know how is everything! The show must go on!
