I'm still using my Gateway 2000 486. Originally a 486/33 SX, now an Evergreen 133 that I found in the garbage

Of course, it's not my main PC, it's just analyzing network traffic right now, so I guess it doesn't count.

Up until a couple of months ago, my main box was a P100@120. Been overclocking that one since August of '95 when I bought it. No fan, just a heatsink. I'm also still actively using a 486DX2/66 (recently upgraded from an SX25). But my main box is now a Celeron433@488, and while not the fastest, it probably isn't the slowest anmymore.

I have a 486sx 25 connected to my network. It is not my main computer, but I do use it to store some files. Mostly a toy, BTW, it runs windows 95, but it is a dog!!!

P90 @ 99... but my main one is k6-233!!! rc5-64 benchmark - 390k keys. After 5 years, my friend just upgraded from p100 to PIII 700.

not my main computer, but I have a 486 SX33 with 4MB RAM. win95 installed. I still remembered taking a shower and did some other stuff when installing win95...

I'm not so sure about that patience...those P83s were pretty speedy, and with that hard drive, the ide controller's speed is probably maxxed...I bet it's quite responsive, in other words, a very bearable to have system.

I've &quot;pawned off&quot; alot of Pentium's from the pre-MMX era as &quot;first computers&quot;. Its hard for them to beat sub-$100 for an internet capable machine. Pair that with the rash of cheap 14&quot; monitors out there and you got a good all around e-mail machine.

(Note: It's misleading to say I've pawned them off... they actually all go to an elementary school that I help whenever possible. The For Sale/Trade forum has been a blessing for processors, but we're way short on SS5/7 motherboards and hard-drives. Anyone that wants to donate their pre-MMX pentiums to a school - I know just the school to send them to! )

As far as I know, one of my friends still uses only his original MacIntosh from 1984. Nothing changed in it. He mostly does word processing and plays Hangman.

It's not my main machine any more, but I still have a Cyrix 133 w/ 24 MB of RAM, a cheap 2D video card, a 28.8 modem, and a malfunctioning sound card. The hard drive is 2.1 GB.

I hate that system.
