Who here has the slowest main comp

uh, i gave these people our old 386 16mhz, so i guess they got the slowest machine . I felt pretty bad just giving it to someone as the actual comp they would be using.

Yeah I put my Quantum in the Cyrix downstairs and it's so so so fast compared to on my P83... and that's only using udma33...

In my P83 I get about 2MB/s tops.. it uses regualr dma-2 or ata-2 or whatever in pio mode 4, and needs a DDO to function properly in that system...

The RAM is only about 25MB/s, it's horribly slow. And yes, I do have alot of patience to use it, but it's so much faster than using my Seagate drives, woah.

How about an IBM XT? lol... hehe It's not my main machine, but I think it's still in the Attic somewhere.. =P
If I remembered correctly the stats was 4.77mhz with turbo was 8mhz, 640k of ram, and 20MB hard drive and 5.25 floppy drive. IT didn't even have a mouse =P

I have a Timex too, just never could get the thing to work. But I got a few other computers(obviously not my main beast though)....VIC 20 BABY!!! OHH YEAH! HAHA!

I, too, had the tape drive, the overlapping keyboard you put over the membrane, and almost got the 300 baud for that monster =) I wish I knew about overclocking then, as Blackjack took 17 minutes to load on tape =)

Gateway P120 - Overclocked to a P133. 48MB EDO ram. 4MB Riva 128 pci card, 8.4gb Maxtor HD, 24X cdrom, 2x HP burner, 19" nokia 446xpro monitor, broken Epson 600 printer.

Unlike a lot of you, this is my MAIN system. I am using it now, and I hate it! My computer is slower then my DSL line, and Flash pages bring my system to a crawl. I need to order my new system, and fast!

I do, just look at my signature. But i have a P2 350 and a bunch of ram here siting on the desk so as soon as I get a new mobo I'll be set with just enough cash left for a Voodoo3 3000 AGP, and I'm laughing.

Some friends of mine got ripped off when someone sold them a
486 Packard Bell with a 20 meg harddrive. You couldn't run
hardly anything on it....
So using old parts I had laying around I built this for them
and gave it to them for free.....
Minitower AT 230w
biostar motherboard
AMD k75 w/32 megs ram
wd 420 hd
wd 85 hd
newcom internal hardware 33.3 modem
used their keyboard, mouse, and 14" svga monitor.
For internet and word processing it's enough for them.....

Well you can't beat me
It's not my own machine, but I have some AMD 386SX40's lurking around, 2MB 30pin RAM, 10MB 5.25 HDs (noisier than blenders), with CGA controllers (using WFW311).
I even have some XT@4.77MHz MoBos here
