Why does California have the most lawyers in the country while New

New Jersey got first choice.

If the only place in Jersey that you have been is near Newark, im sorry but your vote dosent count.

I second that. Most people fly into Newark, stay in the surrounding area, and then leave and think NJ sucks. Yes, the Newark area is a piece of Sh!t. Try coming up into the northeast corner (Bergen County). It's the 2nd wealthiest county in the country and I think also has the second highest real estate prices in the country. It's expensive as hell to live there. It's really nice there though and you can get anything you want. Plus it is only about 30 minutes into NYC from there.

Southern NJ is more southernish (farms, etc.)
The west is very woodsy (many camps, etc.)
The north is rich and nice like I said
The middle is nice as well (lots of pharmaceutical companies and it's building up. It's nice there as well.

I'd just recommend staying outside of a 10 minute radius or so of Newark (Newark, Patterson - don't want to be there at night.)

dont forget Camden or even some select places in Asbury Park and Neptune.

You should take Camden out of that list.

I lived in Chatham, New Jersey (Morris County, Northern New Jersey) for 11 years and I loved it. The schools were wonderful. They actually could afford more than 1 dollar per student at the schools. The schools actually had compotent teachers that were experienced. The houses were also a lot cheaper and actually had some distance and variety between each other. New Jersey also had snow, albeit little, but still some!! I don't understand you people saying it's expensive to live in New Jersey. Sales tax is 6% when you are actually taxed. In California practically everything is taxed and it's 8.25%. New Jersey also had a very pleasant quaint feeling to it that I like (I understand not everyone likes that). I don't remember the people being any more difficult or mean than the people in California (neither were mean or difficult actually). Despite having a high population density, New Jersey seemed to have a lot more open space than in California where I live (Silicon Valley). California also has a lot more traffic. New Jersey isn't very racially diverse though. I like California in that aspect a lot more. In general I would much prefer to live in New Jersey, but California is not a bad place to live.

These views are all based upon Chatham, New Jersey and Silicon Valley in California. Please I'm not trying to offend anyone.

Yeah, you can't just go to the middle regions and say the entire state sucks. I've never even been to Newark (nor do I care to) but I've lived in NJ all my life (well, I'm in college in PA so ). Besides Asbury Park, Camden, and Newark, which are all great concert venues might I add, most of the state is quite nice. I live down south in Gloucester County (Washington Township) where you're 20 minutes away from Philly and 40 minutes away from the shore... nice as long as you city people don't invade them. Low crime, best public schools in the area, plenty of excellent cheap local concerts, no moronic city dwellers, how can you not love it?
