I'm looking for the happiest person on the board; happiest = most satisfied with life.

If you consider yourself to be very happy, please explain why you are. What is your silver bullet? How have you found satisfaction in life?

EDIT: I'm generally pretty miserable. I'm posing this question for self therapeutic reasons. Happiness eludes me so I wanted to hear some "success stories" and perhaps learn from them.

im pretty happy, it would be hard for me to say im the happiest person on the board.

Why i am happy:
I have firends and family which probably is the largest factor in my happiness.
I am very happy with my job, i ve always wanted to work here.
I have all the toys i could want.

Are you happy?

I guess I'm pretty happy right now. I'm finally close to graduating from college. Plus, racing season only two months away and I'll be back doing what I love, driving race cars, after being away for a long time. All I need now is a girlfriend and I'm set.

Well after last night if your mom visited the boards! Sorry

I'm pretty happy. I wouldn't say "very" happy because a bunch of things still need to be set in place, such as my wife not living 1800 miles away but overall in life I'm satisfied and I enjoy life, which is more than I can say for all of the years I spent as a child going to school.

I'm happy:
I'm young, making decent money before I go off to school, I have my health, I have my family, I have my friends, my wonderful girlfriend who brightens up all of my days...

I'm getting ready for college, and I'm looking forward to it

<--- Happy (but maybe not the happiest around....don't wanna give myself THAT much credit )

I stay happy by thnking of all of the opther people who have much worse issues than I. There is always someone who is worse off than you...and no matter how bad you feel it could always be worse. Travelling to numerous countries while in the service showed me this. The key is to be thankful for what you have. I guess the number one thing is always health. No amount of money can replace your health.

i just had this conversation with gl last night.
for the first time in the past little while i can say that i am happy, i have friends that love me and want to hang out with me, im single and im not sad about not having someone; infact im happy and refuse to settle for just somebody, i love my job and my boss, im finally finding what i like in school...

i think what i learned that im the person that can change my life if im not happy because of something, i am the one that has to change it, i cant sit on my ass and bitch about it. and i think that is why, right now, i am happy with my life, because i am in control.

My old boss (I worked at a neighborhood music shop) used to say, "I've got my guitar, I've got my truck, and I've got sunshine. It doesn't get any better." Of course when you're 17, you're thinking "What about beer and chicks?" Took me a couple years to finally figure out what he was talking about.

People who are very, very happy are because THEY WANT TO BE. So here goes; my job is boring, I'm sick of school, just broke up with my girlfriend, I've got the flu, and I just recovered from loosing about a year of my youth (long story). And guess what, I'm happy. Not because life just seems to be going my way, it's because I choose to be. I can sit around all day complaining or being depressed, but how is that going to make me happy? How is that going to fix aspects of my life that suck? I've tried it before and it doesn't help.

Here's a little trick I use that keeps you possitive (and helps in every aspect of life); have a sence of humor about bad things and over-appreciate good things. Here's an example:
I'm sitting at work listening to my radio and Limp Bizkit comes on. Instead of thinking, "God damn it! They play this crappy song all the time. What the hell is wrong with them. blah blah blah", I can just listen to it and try to find a good aspect of it. If I can't, I love to listen to it and laugh at just how bad it is. After that, they might put on some Hendrix, so I can turn up the radio and appreciate that they are playing stuff I like. Just simple stuff like that helps a ton.

It's easy to keep writing about this sort of stuff, so I just stop here. Sorry to kind of go off on a tangent there...

I feel extremely lathargic and apathetic about everything I do lately. I probably have a chemical imbalance like the rest of this god-forsaken world. That sounds like a likely excuse? This winter crap is draining to no end, I'm surprised I still get up and get to work on time. I want to quit this boring, aimless job. I want to kill my boss. He's the biggest social reject in the world and won't shut the hell up. I wish he would just die, and leave us all alone. My co-workers would agree. Maybe one of these days I'll just snap when he's going on about something I really don't want to hear about and just jack him in the face a few times. The *only* reason I'm still sitting here 8 hours a day is because I get paid and I have an expensive car I should not of bought. DAMN! I guess I could quit and that would make me feel better, but then I'd have to find a new crappy job which would require me to do more work then I'm doing now (which is next to nothing), and frankly that just sounds like a whole lot of trouble I don't want to deal with! Why is money so important... It shouldn't be.

I have no immediate friends. The few I did have are doing what most 20 year old's are doing; having a good time at college. I have this pseudo girlfriend which is probably a waste of both our times, but I can't seem to just end it because I'm such a clingy bastard. I want to move away and start fresh in a climate where you see the sun for more then a few hours a day and the average tempreature is above 50 degree's. I've considered the military... seems like a good idea, but again I'm to lazy to do anything about it.

The only things that do bring me some happiness are porno and some tv shows here and there. That's pathetic. Oh, and I like that new Wolfenstein game, that's a good time

EDIT:Oh, I forgot to mention sleeping. I'm pretty content when I'm asleep. Preferably for long periods of time and without dreams.

What the hell do I know anyway? I'm just a bitter, jaded fool.

Well, I'm happy, but my grades suck, so I can't be *very* happy.

But I'm very happy that my Playstation 2 is coming today

I'm pretty happy.

Have a wife that I love with our soon to be daughter growing inside!
Have a job that I can tolerate (can't really ask for much more!) and I just found out I'm getting out of this damn cubicle and into an office!
I have a house!
I have a family that loves me!

The only thing that would make me happier is if I was living back in Michigan closer to my family.

I am exceedingly happy right now!

I have a wonderful girlfriend who is exceedingly sweet and beautiful (Can't go wrong with UT Cheerleaders).
I have a great family.
I have a great computer related job.
I am still young and in good health.
I have great friends that I get along with very well.

Sure, I wouldn't mind a Ferrari or a mansion in Santa Cruz, but I am more then content with how God has blessed me.
