I consider boxing to be a bit boring compared to MMA - there's always some excitement because you know fighters aren't just going to use their hands, you never know how a fight will end. Boxing is just one aspect of MMA, you will always see some sort of boxing in an event, but because we have all those other aspects it's much more fun to watch.

I watched my first UFC event just a while ago ( Rampage and Rashad). Didn't really find it all that interesting.

Too unrealistic, if you're going to fight it should be to kill. Knives, guns, eye gouging, throat ripping, none of this rules and fighting to hurt just a little bit.

Wake me up once we're back to real gladiatorial combat instead of play-fighting.

Until then I'll watch the even more fake but at least more entertaining and better choreographed mock fighting in the movies.

(I'm mostly serious, though not really bloodthirsty enough to yearn for the real arena.)

Most UFC events suck ass, try to watch events for exciting fighters such as Shogun, Fedor, Jose Aldo who will usually guarantee an exciting end to a fight.

Try to avoid GSP/Fitch/Rashad and lay and prayers.

Even a boring boxing match is better than all the grappling bore of MMA. What I don't get is, here are all these martial arts guys, but yet they fight like anyone else. Just go in there and see who can land the biggest punch. Now they do other stuff, but for the most part, all the special fighting styles are non-existant.

watched your 7th link - watched the entire fight. All I saw were two guys beating the crap out of each other. 2 guys who will in all likelihood suffer from permanent injuries/brain damage from fighting like that. Seems pretty barbaric to me. Dumb sport.
