RGN,
Yeah, I'm five-O... Actually, I'm a honorary/part-time deputy. I work a little when someone's one vacation, when they're severely understaffed, when there's a big emergency, or to occasionally serve warrants when noone else feels like doing it. I don't get paid much, but then again, my duties are never really that dangerous. But I do have a badge, and a cool blue light for my car (it looks neat when I've got the blue light running in my black 300ZX TT, I get the funniest looks)... not to mention a nifty jacket that says deputy on it as well as some t-shirts (on the back of two of them is printed "whacha gonna do when I come for you?".
Cool story. I was on my way home one evening when I saw this joker blow through a red light doing 60-70mph in a red Chevy pickup, almost nailing this lady in a Cavalier. Well, it really torqued me off so planted the blue light and went into pursuit. I called in for approval and backup (which I got, and BU was sent). I quickly caught up with the guy and he immediately pulled over. I called saying I'd apprehended and relayed tag numbers. Anyway, I got out of the ZX and walked over to his door with badge in hand and with my other hand in my jacket pocket on my gun. Sure enough it was a 16 year-old kid and man was he sweating bullets.
Me: Didn't see that red light did ya?
Him: Yeah, I saw it, I just thought it would change before I got there.
Me: I need your license and your registration.
Him: Ok. <he hands said items to me>
Him: Can I ask you a question?
Me: Yeah, what is it?
Him: When did the police start driving 300ZX turbos? I was gonna run when I saw the blue light, but when I saw what you were driving I knew I didn't have a chance.
Me: Soon we'll all be driving them. And no, you won't have a chance.
Then the backup arrived and I let them take over.
