I do, on my gaming machine. Cant beat the resolution or refresh. Do not like ghosting especially in shooters.
Also, I can finally play Baldurs Gate 2 at 2048x1536, which is freakin awesome.

Not since 2002 where I spent the best part of £2k ona 23" Sony LCD...then added the dell 2405 in 2006...now both are still at my parents place wasting away while I'm on a 13" macbook. Crazy!

Still using my Hitachi 21" 'Flat screen' ultra bright shadow mask monitor. And i will continue to do so until it dies, since it was $750 when I got it. I even cut a hole in the wall to push the cable end into so i could get 1.5 extra inches of desk space.

I got rid of my 10-year old 19" Viewsonic A90 just a couple years back. It served me well but it was time to move along to LCD.

I loved CRTs but when my last one died they were no longer produced and I had to go with an LCD. The upside is that LCDs are much easier on my eyes, especially when reading text. Yeah, there are disadvantages with an LCD, but I have a Dell 2209WA which keeps them to a minimum while still being relatively cheap.

I hate CRTs. I have a couple in the basement for emergency heaters, but hopefully I'll never have to use them.

It's foolish to use CRTs in this day and age. There are no advantages at all. None. LCDs are superior in every conceivable way. Everyone knows this.

My 8-bit NES games appear to strobe as the screen scrolls on flat panel displays. There are many reasons why:
Non-native resolution
-Image processing (there's ALWAYS some form of image processing if the display's native rez is higher-than-SD)
-The way the image is drawn (progressive)
-Pixel response time
-The way colors are created

Also, old light gun peripherals don't work on flat-panel displays.

...the two visible damping wires appearing as horizontal lines across the display.
That's only on high-end CRTs with Aperture Grill technology. Those really aren't noticeable unless you're looking for them.

I was lucky enough to have one of the best quality LCDs from 1999. Believe it or not, it was a KDS brand, but clearly manufactured by some other manufacturer. It used a special kind of AG tech that didn't have the wires at all.

I was using a 17" NEC MultiSync FE700+ until about a year ago...bought it in 2002 I think. It's working with my uncle's computer now. For all the crowing that people make about LCD ghosting, I've never seen it on any LCD monitor I've used.

Fail.
Take a window, drag it around desktop & BLURRRRRR I don't give a hoot if you got best LCD there is like I have. No so on CRT. Text remains crystal clear always, no matter how fast you drag, no matter what RTS or FPS you are in.

Input lag is another fail of LCD. Course most of you are mentally retarded and don't know 30ms delay.

And this blur gives you migraine headaches or something? Also, that "blur" you speak of was with first generation LCD's. Today anything with 8ms response or better is not going to have this blur that drives you crazy.

I would think you'd want to upgrade due to the power savings and space savings alone.

I still have a 21" Dell UltraScan P1110 that I use almost daily (my main comp uses a 32" LCD) The brightness levels have definitely taken a nose dive, but overall the picture and quality is still superb and very useable.

A. Response times on LCDs are still shit. Video games on LCDs make my eyes bleed.

B. Backlit displays are very fucking annoying.

C. Interpolated resolutions look so non-amazing.

D. Colors on LCDs still have no intensity, and blacks are still gray.

Almost everyone knows this.

btw I'm talking about IPS LCDs, don't even get me started about how bad the cheap ones most people use are.

I had a Philips 107T that I used for 6 years before I got fed up with the short in the VGA cable. I bought my Dell 2007WFP and couldn't be happier.

CRTs seem to strain the eyes more.

I was talking to a guy in the office once, and the CRT refresh rate was interacting strangely with the fluorescent lighting, and I felt like I was tripping. He'd move his hand in front of the monitor, and I'd see tracers from his hand. I couldn't concentrate on anything he was saying. I finally had to bump up the refresh rate to 75hz just to talk to him. It was really fucking with my head.

Bingo, the refresh rate was too low.

I was until July 2010. Then I switched to a Dell 2311H, one of the lower priced IPS panels in the market. Isn't the final word in image quality and the black levels were a disappointment compared to CRTs but I like it now. Can't imagine moving back to a CRT now. I can actually use my desk to keep random things on it now - books, ashtray, clock etc.

I gave up on CRT's way back. Had a 2405FPW then a 2407WFP then 2 2407WFP's and now one 3008WFP.

If I could get my hands on a quality CRT in good condition I would still use them. Sony FW900 has been my dream monitor for years.

Currently I'm running 3 24" ASUS LCDs. They are okay for gaming, but I'll agree with some of the more adamant CRT users about motion blur and response time.

LCD haters haven't used an LCD display since 1999.
I can print just fine with an LCD and calibration. If you want to be more precise, the same makers that made super high end CRT's have been making high end, correctable LCD's.

You can still buy em made in Japan too though sony's professional imaging division.

OLED is wave of future though. All of LCDs & CRT strengths none of weaknesses. Need to some down in price. Problem is LCD is so cheap, and as you see most peoples eyes are messed up and are quite happy with LCDs, so we may never get there.
