I used to use lifting gloves when I was a teenager. I thought they were 'cool'...you know...black...it's manly..tough...right? Then I realized there's really no point. The only situation I could see using them is if you're doing a single rep of a very heavy weight, and that's still a big maybe...still probably not. Otherwise...you're increasing the distance from the bar to your hands...and to me it actually makes it more difficult to hold. Reducing the callouses on your hand I guess is a nice side effect but meh...I think they're silly and it's more of a social statement nowadays
