I think we have something like 4-5 new area codes in the minneapolis/st. paul metro area now. Pretty recent, within the last 5 years.

Here in NYC its a 7 digit call for those in your own area code, and 10 digit for those outside your area code, even though its still local.

we gotta dial all 10 in Atlanta because there are 3 different area codes if not 4. I know of 770, 678, 404. I think they're either making another one, or there already is another one.

Dude, I wanna move to the 404 area code. I can already think of cool answering machine messages reguarding 404 errors and not being home

Yup, here in Dallas, 214, 972 and 469 (although I only know one person who has a 469 #) are all local calls. Calls within an area code (214-->214) still require 10 digits. I dont mind it that much, cause 95% of my calls are on speed dial in my cell

if i'm correct i remember hearing somewhere that you will have to dial 10 digits for all calls. even if they're in the same area code as you. i think they said this might happen within the next few years.

Here in west Michigan, I sometimes have to dial 10 digits, but sometimes not. It's quite confusing.

I have to dial 10 here in Seattle. Back home (Hawaii) the entire state is one area code. That is nice, no 10 digit dialing, although its still long distance.
