It's the players that spice things up.
On the other hand, like any spice, it has to be used carefully.
Wow, Pulitzer anyone?

I tried again, but stopped almost as fast as I started since nothing has changed as far as the guys that don't have anything better to do than to kill noobs.
A learning curve is OK, a little payment in blood to figure things out too. But being slaughtered within a few minutes by someone with an automatic rifle that will not get anything out of your death is not. It's simply not fun right now. Nothing has changed since my last post. Zombies... no problem, making it anywhere, even figuring things out right now is near impossible since you have people that have nothing better to do than to grive.
This reminds me about the worst times in Straglethorn Vale at the worst of my WOW days. So until they figure out how to deal with griefing I won't return. Just not worth my time. Just not fun!
They need a system similar to what UO did. The murder count system worked because it did not discourage killing players, but discouraged dying as a murderer. Yes they couldn't enter towns but that can't be in a game like this.
Let's say that players who kill "innocent" players are labeled as bandits. Their names are colored a different color than other players. In order to become a bandit, a you must kill enough players that are not bandits. Let's say it is 8 players. Now, when you kill a player that is not a bandit, they get a prompt to report you. If the chose yes, you gain a count against you. Now, as a bandit, any player can kill you without penalty of receiving a count. If you die as a bandit, instead of the 60 minute timer for that character, you must wait 6 hours. Now, you can lose counts by waiting 24 hours of server time without receiving a new count. Each time a count is received, the timer starts over. Now there is a middle state. Upon killing a player, for 10 minutes you are in a criminal status. This will allow anyone to freely kill you without receiving a count.
This system would offer a risk vs reward system to being a bandit. And if the game gains a community, there will be those who will strictly target bandits. Bandit hunters, if you will.
I realize War Z has it's problems after reading this thread and many others, has anything changed with this steam release?
After reading the steam store page, then hitting the discussions forum for the game.. is 90% of the information listed under the store page false?
People seem to be going nuts on the game's forum, touting that mostly all of the features (100 player servers, lots of skills, etc) are completely false and have not been added yet as the game is still early in development. I even saw a "WarZ scam" tumbler page linked there.
I've never played it before, so just curious what's going on.
Is the DayZ standalone version still supposed to be released before Christmas?
Yup sorry to offend anyone who bought it, from day one this looked like something that was quickly banged together me too type game to make money off Day Z.
TB destroyed the game....I played a game of league and just listened to him in the background and I was cracking up the whole time. Good for them, they deserve all the bad publicity they are going to get from this one.
The 12-minute mark in the TB video is one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen.
whos tb?
This guy gives a pretty accurate and quick rundown of the shit that has happened with this game so far.

Yeah he's been hating on it a lot lately from the videos I have seen. I can't listen to his rants for too long though. Grinds on my nerves. Not hating on him. Just saying.
