Oh DAYUM! That put a dent in my WM05 phone
Uh...use Opera. Plus, full webpages put the hurt on EDGE connections.

Anyways, looks nice for a basic smartphone. I don't care what kind of touchscreen tech they come up with, nothing beats a builtin qwerty keyboard. Just about everything he's gone over has been done on WM smartphones for quite a while though. I am definitely jealous of the builtin 8GB though.

I'm on a 8125, built in keys, touchscreen, and so on. From the video, the iPhone seems to be smaller, faster and slicker than any pocket PC on the market. BTW, I've tried Opera...still too slow.

10:36am - "We want to take what Apple's doing reinventing the phone and do that on the internet -- great form factors, user experiences, and UI, and translate them into a seamless internet experience. We want to take the Web 2.0 into the device world -- you have my address Steve, please send it to me."

10:37am - "It's been great having the two greatest companies on the web right down the block. Thank you guys so much, you've really helped us put the internet in the phone.

10:38am - "So, an internet communicator, an iPod, and a phone. Let's put them all together and see what you can do in a real-life scenario..."

10:39am - Another hands-on demo. "Let's see what happens when a phone call comes while listening to music -- music fades out and the call comes through."

Phil wants photos to use as his screen saver, one of the phones from Hawaii. Go figure! Steve is emailing the photo -- shrinks, compose window pops up (he's still on the phone with Phil, mind you), and he sends it.

Oh it's definitely much slicker. Smaller definitely, at the expense of a keyboard. Faster, probably, as WM5 is a hog in its current state, but I'd be willing to bet Steve is running off WiFi right now and not EDGE, so take that into account for page loads, data retrieval for weather data, etc. My point is people are orgasming over some of these features like they're unheard of.

He ends the call, and the music pops right back up, no pauses, no fuss. Uproarious applause.

LOL I was actually thinking that. Beautiful big screen, in your pocket all the time, don't want to use a case, that's annoying for a phone.

I hope there's a highlights reel of this soon - I need to see this phone.

The Yahoo-built-in thing is the only statement I haven't liked so far. I already have to make an effort to prevent Yahoo toolbar sh1t installing on my PC.

Apple is making these features easy enough for the average person to use with minimal fuss...people are all about convenience, that's why McDonalds is so huge...

10:41am - "Today Apple is reinventing the phone. How does this stack up? Let's look at the competition..." Treo, BB, E62, Q... comparing mail, contacts, calendars, web... "Let's see the web, we tried to make it look as good as we could. And this is what you get." Comparing music...

"After today, I don't think anyone's going to look at these phones the same way again."

Yeah, why didn't they make Google the default search engine? Oh I just realized, because Yahoo is a portal with tons of content, that makes sense. Nevermind lol.

I'll wait for the reviews and see what the downfalls are. I want CPU details, price, battery life, voice dialing present? So many questions still unanswered.

10:45 PT. Accessories Accessories will include stereo headphones (like those for the iPod) with a tiny microphone built in, a bluetooth headseat (incredibly small), automatically pairs with the iPHone. Battery: 5 hours talk/video browsing, 16 hours playback of audio.

I'll believe it when I see it. 5 hours of continuous BT/Wifi/Phone usage in a battery that small?
