Nice nice. Why hate? It is XJ40 😊 (but i have 3 more to have at least one running any given time lol).
I hope it will hold, never tried brazing before.

Is that your YT channel, @YuliApp ? How are things?

Probably doesn't really count because all I needed today was a flat head screwdriver to replace a sun visor.

Oh I did replace a missing side reflector a few weeks ago, also easy peasy.

Hehe yes, found my "perfect retirement".

Hey it still counts, even sunvisor.
I today was searching for oil pan on automatic gearbox of my Mitsu. Thought it was easy job, but life as always has different plans.

Friend of mine got recently Prelude he was always dreaming about, so I was happy he also has a honda. I have now sadly only bike, but had a nice civic back in Germany, love Hondas.

Our 14 year old Sienna loser cruiser power drivers seat wouldn’t go fwd or aft. Wife is way short and of course it failed as far back as it travels when she exits.

Using a trim removal tool we pulled the switch covers off to access the front switch. No broken wires, so we sprayed the shit out of it with contact cleaner and put it back together. It worked! For three days…

I bought a guaranteed serviceable switch off the Bay. It worked for a week. 😡

We just yanked the motor. This better fix it!!!

I’ll update this when the part comes in.

Silly me thinking something would arrive by USPS relatively soon during the Christmas holiday shipping frenzy! Shitlol

A guaranteed serviceable motor finally arrived. Installed & ops checked good. MEL’d driver’s seat manual pillow installation before operation cleared. Sienna loser cruiser returned to service.

I’m torn between telling my wife to put the seat in the position she prefers and leave it there or having her put it in position and then removing the power connector from it and telling her it's permanently broken in that position.

I know this thing is gonna shit the bed again…

The power seat has been died on our Trailblazer for several years now. It is stuck in position, which is OK for my mother who is 5' 5". Don't know if it is switch side or motor side.

Good thing nobody else drives it. Even for her though, it makes me nervous because of her preference it is still a little too far forward, probably will kill her if the airbag ever deploys. When it still worked, I've tried to get her to move it back a bit, showing she has plenty of reach but she is in her 80s. Ain't no reforming or getting them to change anything. She is also a both footed driver, which I've tried to dissuade her from as well. Ain't happening.

I would remove everything in the electrical system if I could and turn it into a manual seat. Not gonna happen unless I could get the assembly from a junk/donor Sienna.

That's exactly what we were going to do, since manual seats were standard on Trailblazer for that generation. Our mechanic neighbor check all his parts and salvage network, lowest price he could get on a used one was $500 delivered. My mom said no. So that was that. She is loaded ($$$) but somewhere in her mind, still 'living' as poor Tennessee sharecroppers. Very frugal.

Started replacing the inner tie rod and stabilizer bar on the Fusion. Managed to get most of it disassembled before it started raining. I grabbed the wrong size rod puller from the parts store. Need to head back in the morning for a different size so I can finish. I can't manage to finish any wrenching project with at least 1 extra run to the store.

I started doing annual maintenance on the equipment yesterday. Just the usual stuff like oil, air, and fuel filters plus greasing all the pivot points and checking hydraulic oil levels. It's only four pieces of equipment but it is time consuming and usually takes me a couple of days. The Bobcat 440 skid steer and the New Holland Boomer 41 are the easiest so I pumped them out first. The Yale forklift is the worst because of the weight and I don't have a pit so getting under it is no fun.

My supplies cart is fully loaded.

Pic of the tractor and forklift.

My baby skid steer. Ain't it the cutest little thing you ever seen? lol

Dude...you have a bucket on that NH tractor...easy to dig a quick pit.
I wish I could but it's not an option. The little 41 hp diesel just isn't powerful enough to break through the frozen ground and by the time it warms up enough to do it I will be to busy with other things. I might do it later this spring though like at the end of May when I'm not as busy. Thanks for the suggestion.

~50 years ago, during my apprenticeship, I worked as a service oiler. All lubrication services on a wide variety of equipment…dozers, loaders, scrapers, cranes, etc. It was normal to grab a backhoe, dig a shallow trench, pull a piece of equipment over it, drain the oil into the trench, finish the service, fill the trench back up…on to the next piece of equipment. I’d guess I dumped thousands of gallons of motor oil, transmission fluids, hydraulic fluids, etc. into the ground.
No one thought a thing about it…nowadays, that would get you fired…or fined…or both.

The excavator pooped out on the job due to plugged fuel filter(s). I tried a drain and rinse to get it going, but failed to get a good prime. I ran for a pair of new filters and 10 gallons of fuel to assist with priming. New filters and I had to go to the engine driven pump and run that manual plunger to get everything primed.
Body surfing the counterweight to get to that one.

More mechanical issues. On the way home, the TDI Beetle tossed the serpentine belt.
I got home OK thanks to the mechanical engine that uses no electricity, just really hard steering.
The sprag clutch in the alternator probably failed and took the pulley off. I have a pulley and tool on order now.
The alternator and shaft are fine.

1. - I had a serpentine belt snap in a rental car I was driving toward Vegas. It got jammed in one of the blades of the radiator fans and it started flaying like a whip at everything around it. Scared the shit out'a me it was so freaking loud. Damaged the hood of the car. Lucky it didn't cut any of the numerous hoses that was in the area. I had a hard time explaining that to the Hertz lady. lol AAA to the rescue.

2. - Daughter calls me @ 1:30 dark, says she tried starting the car and then it wouldn't crank but she could hear the starter "doing something funny". I drive over to the parking lot of a theater she and her boyfriend went to. Tried starting the car, "click click". I asked her how many times did she try to turn the engine over. She says she kept going, hitting the gas pedal and cranking until it wouldn't do anything any more. So I pop the hood, took a flashlight into the abyss of the engine bay and saw something really weird way down deep near around the area of the AC compressor. First thing I saw was fur. Next thing a paw, then the backside of a cat's head. Looked at it from underneath and some of what was left of the cat was hanging out from behind the gravel pan. Guess who had to rip all of them body parts out of the engine?

We are going to Nashville tomorrow for a Deftones show so I decided to rotate my tires this morning. Fucking floor jack hydraulic ram was leaking…!!

When I get back to town on Friday I'll go over to Harbor Freight and get a new one. Ugh…

We had one that was getting on 20 years old, stored in a shed had not been used much for 10 years. Had an occasion to use it and after getting the vehicle 3/4 jacked it started to collapse, and bottomed out. I assume a seal or something blew but there was no leakage at all of any fluid? No signs of leakage in the shed floor. Rather than try to repair I sent it to the metal scrap/recycler when they came around for curbside pickups.

Hydraulic fluid will evaporate slowly if exposed to air. I used my jack about a month ago to put new wheels on my mother-in-law's wheelchair and it worked OK. I'm just assuming the weight of my van was more than the low fluid could handle.

I bought this pre owned jack about seven years ago at a flea market for $20. Lol

My loser cruiser Sienna van is lowered because the floor was cut out for the ramp. I need one of those low profile floor jacks for it.

Spent the last few available days starting the process of running my own brake lines. OEM ones rotted through. Replaced one (hose to caliper) in the fall cuz I needed the truck, second one failed a week ago on a much longer run. Ordered nickel copper lines, flange tool, whole nine yards. I'm getting pretty good at the flanging, removal of the old lines is a pain though since most are just rust welded on whatever they attach to.

Learning process but once done, those lines will outlast the frame and I won't have to worry about losing brakes halfway down a mountain.

goober lots of anti-sieze on fasteners anyway, because stupid salt.
Been there with a brake line failure towing my 10,000 pound 5th wheel. I stopped, found the leaking line and hammered it shut and clamped it with a vice grip, and got into the campground on 3 brakes. At least it was no longer bleeding fluid out.
Then the first day camping was going to the nearest NAPA and getting the right sized hard line.
