Wow looks good, do those level when you go over hills or are they fixed?

Fixed. I wonder if its even possible to get auto level on a retro fit? My wifes rx350 has that feature and also turns the lights when you turn. Very awesome feature

Just got finished swapping out my Pioneer AppRadio 2 for a JVC KWNT800HDT in my RX-8.

It took about an hour because I had to undo the mess of taking out my PAC TR7 (used to bypass the Pioneer) and clean up the wiring before I stuck the JVC in. I mounted the GPS antenna behind the middle AC vent, and the SiriusXM antenna to the back seat of the drivers side.

Took it out on a test drive to test out the Satellite and GPS signal, and both performed fantastic. I did lose the GPS signal a bit with the tall buildings in Downtown/Midtown Manhattan, but it was negligible. Best GPS I've used by far. Bypassing the unit only consisted of grounding the parking brake wire.

And the one thing I wanted the most, was Bluetooth Audio which worked perfectly with full track information on the unit using my Lumia with Rdio. My Nexus 4 also worked but did not broadcast the AVRCP information to the unit.

I went from AM/FM and iPhone compatibility to AM/FM/HD Radio/SiriusXM/Bluetooth Audio/iPod/Pandora/DVD/CD/SD/USB and everything controls perfectly with my steering wheel with Metra Axxess AWSC.

This pic does not do it justice because it highlights the radio in an unflattering way. In person, it looks a million times better than the Pioneer did, and much better than stock. It demolishes the Pioneer in sound quality too.

Next week I am going to install a sub box I had lying around. I'll take a video of everything then.

The CTS-V's water pump decided it didn't want to play anymore - $381 list at Cadillac. $212ish online. $188 from Amazon.

Or $91 for a Corvette water pump.

It should be identical - we'll find out on Friday or so, whenever I get around to replacing it.

god... that is just stupid. especially when water pumps shouldnt ever fail in the first place. plenty of cars have been made that never had leaky water pumps even after hundreds of thousands of miles.

well its not really wrenching but its giving it a new face lol.

my flat black camaro needed a facelift and some tweaking with the body.
had to re-fit my back bumper and secure it more so now its mounted the right way and won't be flapping in the wind


decided to go with a white top and black bottom.

now if this cold/rainy weather would go away i could finish..

now just need to re-fit the front bumper add some braces on the bottom so it wont flap in high wind and adjust the front of the hood's height to line up a bit better with the fenders.

Seems to be somewhat common around 80k. Hell, the water pump (Gates Premium/Racing, IIRC) I put in ViperGTS's Forester at 105k was starting to leak about 20k later. The one in my Corolla was fine over 200k. Oh well, it's a really easy job.

Changed the oil in my bike this morning. I love the smell of motor oil on my hands.

By the way, anyone use Motul 300V 15W50? That's what I put in my Ducati. It calls for a full synthetic oil so this should be fine.

Since last posting, I re-installed my Bilsteins, swapped to my track rotors/pads, and after tracking, flushed my brake and clutch fluid and lubed the clutch slave cylinder fork.

The Accord got oil and ATF change # 3 million.

Put Bilstein 5100's all around, Bilstein Steering Damper and Plasti Dipped my chrome grill guard on the dodge over the last few weeks. Ride has improved and I'm another step closer to "de-chroming" the entire truck.

The front suspension is so easy. The Rear was a tad bit harder but took my self about 6 hours to do with some breaks.

Installed a new water pump and belt in the CTS-V. It went together amazingly easy...water pump on an LS6 is easier than almost anything on an MR2.

40 days later and the studs are off the Pilot. Wife says her car is much faster now

Valve adjustment, ATF flush , and oil change on Gen 1 2000 Honda CRV
- ( B20B engine, similar to Acura Integra B18B engine) .


Edit - Done - I do not know when the valves were last adjusted but when I checked them they were OK . TB ( looks fairly new and good but really not sure how old ) but was a little sloppy so I adjusted tension per the manual. I also replaced the valve cover gasket, spark plug tube seal,and grommets. Unforunately, I didn't have any sealant on hand for the cam tower coners and I needed to drive it . I will have redo the VC install if it leaks.

I'm wrenching tomorrow. New Bilstein 4600's in the front, new sway bar bushings and possibly endlinks. I have some delrin spacers for the front of my truck. Oh by the way, I ended up getting a 2005 Titan LE 4x4. Love it, its a blast to drive.
Also need to replace the driver exhaust manifold as it has a crack. I picked up another manifold and gaskets and if I have time after doing the struts, I'll tackle that job.

Wrenching with my daughter tomorrow. I've taught her basics about cars/tested her and even started driving lessons (she is 15).

Although she has helped me with oil changes in the past, it's time to do it on her own (with me watching/assisting if needed).

showed my friend how to change the oil on his Saturn ion and asked him to bring over the oil and new filter. when he came over he brought 1 quart lol. at least he know what to do now and won't have a 15k mile interval between changes

The ex brought over the son's bicycle to fix loose handlebars. Took her longer to drive over than it did to adjust/tighten the bars. But that's fine. It was good to see him.
