TR was my favorite, Lincoln was the best, closely followed by Jefferson... last century in terms of importance (not personal pref) FDR, Wilson, TR, Truman, Regan.
JFK is the most overrated. His crowning achievement was the cuban missle crisis which which I believe many people could have solved (though not nixon). and he had more negatives than most. Bay of Pigs was a mess, but under his presidency the CIA got a reputation of meddling which is still hurting us (any dictator can say the CIA did something and the people rally)...though we aren't nearly as bad as we were then. I mean come on the CIA hasn't tried to overthrow a government via revolution since El Salvador/Nicaragua, and arguably hasn't tried to overthrow anybody since then. But JFK tried to overthrow 4. Oh yeah and he should get at least 10% of the credit for Vietnam. If he wasn't shot I think we would remember him as a mixed bag. Now RFK could have been great...
I completely agree. I beleive democracy in America died with him that same day.

Gerold Ford has always been one of my favorites. His whole life was put under a microscope because of Watergate. No one who ever sat in that office has ever been so thourghly examined. And he was squeaky clean.
He also gave 48 hours to give up the Myaguez (sp?) or he would send in the Marines. At the end of the 48 hours, the Marines went in and took it back. Nobody else screwed with the U.S. while he was in office.
I also believe he made decisions based on what he thought was good for the country. He knew he would be condemned for pardoning Nixon, but he knew that the scandal would paralize the government if it continued to grind on. He willingly took it on the chin to get the country moving forward again. I can't imagine many other Presidents doing that.

Nothing quite like a President who can balance the budget, create a surplus, and still have time to get head from his intern on the side.

Herbert Hoover. He set the low water mark that allows us to judge just how bad George W. Bush (who has gone so far below that low mark) is.

Ok, and he also is the reason 9/11 happened and why we are dealing with the Islamic radicals. We should have taken out Afghanistan long before 9/11 happened. And what did Clinton did about the USS Cole incident?
I like Clinton but lets not overlook his catastrophic mistakes.

Clinton didn't make CATASTROPHIC mistakes. He made mistakes, but nothing on the level you accuse him of. What did you want him to do over the Cole incident? Sent 160,000 troops into a country that had nothing to do with it?
Look idiot, you can't just outright attack a country for what a terrorist who lived there did. The government didn't do it, some lunatic radical did it. Afghanistan had nothing to do with 9/11 except that OBL lived there. Nearly all the hijackers were Saudis (in case your little pea brain doesn't understand that, it means not Afghan). The only president who even had a chance to possibly stop it was Bush, but that memo he got wasn't exactly detailed, so I'm not going to be unreasonable like you and throw it all in his lap.
THINK and maybe READ A BOOK before you post your stupidity.
