you forgot Pujols in the NL. and Jones is overrated. a .268 lifetime BA with twice as many K's as walks does not a good outfielder make.

Jones is the best defensive player in baseball, at ANY position, bar none. Oh yeah, forgot to mention his 19 HR's and 54 RBIs.

Hey, know what Harmon Killebrew's lifetime average was? .256. He's a Hall of Famer, last I checked. Jones will be too at the end of his career. Oh yeah, forgot something else. He's only 25 years old.

BTW, Pujols is hitting a whopping 11 points higher than Jones, and has fewer HR's.

Sorry to disappoint, but that was hardly the point, and I think you knew that. it was not a direct comparison, I didn;t say Jones is the same player Killebrew is, but Killebrew had a much lower career batting average, and since you think Jones is overrated, wouldn't that make him overrated as well?

Career batting average is not the total defining stat of a player. If you think it is, maybe you should re-evaluate who is the 'dolt' here. Any objective baseball fan realizes that there are many facets to a player's game, hence the term 5 tool players. Jones is certainly one of them, and may I remind you, you brought up Pujols who as I pointed out, isn't hitting any better than Jones is. Yet he is good, I suppose, but Jones overrated.

Btw, looks like Jones is in the all-star game. Guess a whole lot of people in the world buy into that hype, eh?
