I've been a huge Coke fiend for years, typically just going for the regular Coke but Cherry Coke has always been a favorite sort of second option I'd get on occasion.
Sometimes Cherry Coke feels a bit too strong, too syrupy, and the Cherry flavor's power and artificiality can be a bit much. I don't think I could do Cherry Coke exclusively.
I find that any type of soda benefits from being fountain rather than bottle. Bottle drinks are always more thick, syrupy, and too strong. The fountain ones are watered down to various degrees, and some places water them down TOO much and there's not a lot of flavor, but then other places get it just perfectly right and it's amazing.
Maybe one time in 50 that I get a fountain drink I'm like "yea, that's the shit right there" because they got it absolutely right. I don't think I've ever thought that about a bottled one. Canned ones maybe sometimes.
But let's face it, they're all just awful for you. I've tried the Coke Zeros and such before, but they feel like you're getting brain cancer just by drinking them. So artificial tasting.
And I go way overboard with soda, I drink a ridiculous amount.
So I'm trying to give it up again. One time years ago I went 2 years without any. Now I'm at about a month and a half without any. I'm drinking Polar Seltzer water instead. Orange Vanilla is a personal favorite. But of course they taste like shit until you kind of beat your taste buds into submission, then they start to be okay.
