I've had that on a few occasions; great stuff  I like strong beers too. There are a few 14% brews at the summer beer festival that I always love (the names escape me).Originally posted by: Captain Howdy
Still, the best IPA I have ever had is the Dogfish Head 120 minute, however, because of it's extremely high alcohol content, it can be hard to find in certain areas. (really expensive too.)

Another one I would highly recommend is Ommegang Three Philosophers Quadrupel.

While it's not a microbrew, I can't help but feel obliged to toss Yuengling into the ring.. best tasting and smoothest beer I've ever had. Sure, microbrews are great -- God knows I've had my fair share, but I always come back to Yuengling.
While I mostly prefer the Lager, their Black & Tan is excellent as well.
While Yuengling is a good cheap beer at the bar its not a great beer.
Usually at a bar in PA its coors, more sh*t, more sh*t, more sh*t, Yuengling for the same price, and then Blue Moon or a local beer for 2 dollars more.
For the price Yuengling is what you should drink as it tastes 1000x better then coors or anything like it. But lets not kid ourselves its nothing special.

Brooklyn Local 1 is great if you haven't tried it, don't know about availability though. Also Great Lakes Dortmunder, or any Great Lakes brew if you can get your hands on one. Highly recommended, I almost had a job there with them.

If you're in Texas, next time you buy beer look for Shiner Bock. It's very good. I've seen it as far north as Saint Louis.
My favorite readily available beer.
Of the weird specialty ales, I've had Arrogant Bastard, Dead Guy, Rogue, Yeti, Terrible, and a couple others. I liked all of them, but for casual drinking I go with Shiner.

I spotted a couple bottles left @ New Beer about a week ago. Haven't had the extra cash in my pocket to try many bombers lately. I've been grabbing alot of those Sly Fox cans they put up in the center display($8.50 buys a pretty thirsty sixer).
Great Lakes needs a new barrel boy? I'm there.

Extra cash? That's part of my grocery allowance.
I'll check out those Sly Fox cans...Where is New Beer?
