I like all PCs whether they are IBM-PC or Apples. They all do the same stuff, just in different way. I personally own several IBM-PCs, but at work I use Apples. Many people like to trash them, but they have many positive points as opposed to a Windows based machine. For example, the Apple OS does not use a registry which makes repairing or troubleshooting a computer much easier and faster in my opinion. Another nice point is that Apple OSes can be booted off CDROM and connect up to the network to transfer files, you can not do this with a Windows CD, although you could put network drivers onto a bootable floppy or CDROM and boot from that and transfer files via DOS, but this method is not as appealing to me as I prefer a GUI over a command line prompt when transferring files. Another area Apple machines shine is software. Without a doubt, iTunes and iDVD are very nice pieces of software and lets not forget about OSX, pure eyecandy. Did you know that you can get an OpenGL module for it to make your desktop a 3D interface ala the movie Virtuosity? It's quite impressive and puts even WindowsBlines, DesktopX, etc to shame. Additionally, I am in the minority, but I enjoy an appealing looking case. My friends scoff and can care less about the way their boxes look, but it is important to me. Yes it is true that Apples do not have as high a MHz rating as Windows based machines, but they are efficient and get the job done regardless of the application.
In summary, Apples have many advantages over Windows based machines just as Windows based machines have some advantages (Ex. more widely available software although Apples have emulators for running Windows software). A computer is simply another tool that one has in their arsenal. Choose the one you need for the job you need to do.
